katunX; ya ...the melbourne 2030.....the whole system in CBD need alittle overhaul. too much in a rectangular box and talking about shopping complex..small retails here need support to improve.
eh, what about the planned William Landing; 18km from city.. doh.gif
*
but they are reviewing back the planning, the population boom is just beyond their main estimation, that's why they keep erecting those high-rise apartment...they don't really want the suburb sprawling out of control...too bad for government, too much maintenance...

william landing? never heard about it yet? what's that?

They really dont have a Low Yat here?

Damn,i was thinking of getting a desktop here.I really hate to do CAD without a numpad but getting a desktop from Dell or Acer is no no for me.

I still prefer for a custom build desktop with the parts that i want to use, especially the graphics card.Dell,Acer and others often give crappy graphics card.

actually, you can get pretty cheap price from this shops at Clayton(if you in Melbourne)...look at this site MSY Computers

katunx, the William Landing is a new proposed urban solving solution for the congestion and shortage of housing problem.Look to skyscrapercity.com
Melbourne 2030 still long way, the 2010 plan also not in work yet. Those high rise apartment are too annoying sometimes; honestly; the space design is not that good as the one you got in along St.Kilda area.It is getting more smaller and look at area such as brunswick, parkville, north melbourne, richmond..some even look like slumps.
Norsiah ..mane tu? Penny..bring me go !! thumbup.gif
*
is it, gosh? Probably i miss that issue, but really for Melbourne 2030, i don't think it can work, because there will 1.2 million people extra from the target. Australian living in high-rise apartment? Except the government got a better solution in term of design or planning. St.Kilda apartment to rate with north melbourne will be quite out of reach...st.kilda = freaking rich area, north melbourne, brunswick=gonna be slum soon without better solution...

by the way, thanks for the William Landing info...

australia living in high rise apartment is so wrong i think. Look at the ground it can cover; east and west not in balance. the city of melb grown more in the east than west.
after geelong, ballarat..no other upcoming small satellite connect each cell.
look at place like richmond; brunswick; carlton, many nearby ..
if you can just create a tsunami..thats the place i wanna wipe clean and rebuild laugh.gif
st kilda is nice..along tram line with nice trees ..damn..remind me of a movie scene in washington dc.
solution; it will take ages to work..planning minister doh.gif
*
that's why planning ministry having headache right now... laugh.gif It not just the matter whether the ground is cover or not, since the idea of high-rise is minimizing land use for greenery purpose (even though i doubt this...)It also in term of government fund to actually support extension of public transportation to the suburb area will cost a lot more rather than encouraging high-density living within development boundaries and improving the existing public transportation...

but then again, St. Kilda is also one of that lucky area, full with rich people and nice location...except the beach is so-so only... nod.gif

Norsiah is ok, but it smells of oil and its quite horrible to eat there. Try having take-away and it'll be better.

Nasi Lemak house is not on lygon, it is on Grattan and I don't like it there. It looks really nice, as you walk by and smell the food-but the service is not really good and I think the food is not very spectacular.

If you want fantastic food, try:
Lazzat, along Lygon (next to Freddos, another good gelati shop smile.gif )
Estellar in the city

oh, sorry then, just got the wrong info... laugh.gif But i do prefer Lazzat or Es Teler, good foods, nice place, good service....Nasi Campur at Lazzat with 3 dishes will only cost you $6.50, I even ask for more rice everytime I have my meal there... shakehead.gif
