Or do yourself a favor, and get yourself a Visa debit card. Most banks should offer something like that (off the top of my head I can think of ANZ and their crazy $5 "monthly charge"). Same thing as a credit card, only near impossible to get into debt.
And you're not?

Nah, I'm a domestic student.

hmmm... i have both my debit and credit with HSBC... no monthly fees!! and you get 5 free withdrawals from other ATMS per month... high interest rate...

actually credit card serves the same purpose too and perhaps they sometimes come in better deals that debit cards dont... you will be fine just that you need some SELF CONTROL, pay in full every month...

BABIIX, so you... citizen? not from malaysia eh?
*
Yeah, I was born here. Too bad I can't give you guys more info about debit cards and stuff, I'm pretty clueless tongue.gif I just know that I use a streamline account.. no monthly fees or withdrawal fees I think. I think you have to be a citizen for that tho

You have to be a student to qualify for the 'no fees'.  Once you cease being a full time student, you are charged approximately $5/month, and this is the case regardless of your citizenship.
*
No dude, i meant like to even get a streamline account you have to be either a PR or a citizen.. sorry tongue.gif yea i know i didn't word it very well.

it is a bit confusing on the front page for streamline... but if you click further... you will find that you only need to be AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS where we all are residents... http://www.commbank.com.au/personal/accoun...ed/default.aspx

also here, you can find that your monthly fees are waived as long as you are a full time student... http://www.commbank.com.au/personal/accoun...es/default.aspx
*

hmmm... the 2k to open account only then after opening can withdraw one... but it's FREE for everyone, so student or student also not much difference...
oh... just wondering lar, i thought people like you already been OZ-nised... and how did you find out LYN...?
*
hhah yesss, i guess so. i'm pretty white-washed so to speak. umm.. how? thru another forum.. tongue.gif needless to say.. they hated my guts there biggrin.gif they all went psycho at me:D

i told them that trying to create a higher nose bridge on asians was like basically them trying to conform to the standards of western beauty.. they went INSANE. the only chick that agreed with me was another girl from america who was able to see my valid points tongue.gif anyway YEP:p

they were all like we're ONLY enhancing our "beauty" blah blah, they then went to point out like freaking less than a handful of asian celebs with nice noses and i was like HAH cuz that really represents the majority doesn't it biggrin.gif

*ends rant*

sorry if it doesn't all make sense... hahah tongue.gif

Hi; are you coming one way or return?
If you are return & on tight budget. I been Gold Coast( its crap airport) there is 2 operating flight in Gold Coast which i think cheapest( Jetstar & TigerAirways about A99 to A150 ). Upon arrival In Melbourne Tullamarine airport; take skybus to Melbourne City which the bus shuttle will stop at Southern Cross &  Southern Cross then take train to Glen Waverley on Glen Waverley Line train. Train fare will be depending on you. It should be Zone 1+2 since you are going Glen Waverley-AUD5.50 for 2 hour. It will take about 35 minutes to there.

for Melbourne transport; check up here. Metlink

Clear for you?
really? babiix, im here in caulfield ..u sure party central?babiix want party? brows.gif
