ermm..my friends got ask me to open an acc in maybank so that my parents can transfer $$ for me without using TT..what is your opinion?

i think maybank has a branch in sydney......but i don't think they do retail banking........

if you want to do intra bank transfer, try hsbc.......

otherwise, the cheapest way to transfer money is by bank draft.....

i just check with bank customer support.

if a bank atm card with PLUS or cirrus sign/logo behind it , it is eligble to withdraw money from oversea atm, which also have the PLUS/Cirrus logo.

PLUS / Cirrus = Visa / Master, if we can withdrwa money with credit card in oversea atm, so do the bank atm card.

FYI, malaysian local bank like public, cimb ,alliance, doesn't support this kind of service except maybank. Alternatively, try UOB, HSCB/ Citibank , foreign bank had more branches overseas

Not any better in Brisbane. Mornings are freezing, but come 11am and its like summer all over again. I'm actually sweating as I walk around campus. Then when I cycle back at 6pm the wind blows away all the heat. I don't know about you, but my nose is killing me.

well yeh.. limeuu is pretty true, however I think that if I stay oncampus, I could participate actively in extra mural activities since I'll already stay inside the campus area, rather den constantly wasting money on transportation going to and forth uni and apartment..

I don't know about diploma, but for foundation, I reckon it'd be easier to get into the same university for undergraduate after you finish your foundation. However having that said, choosing a foundation more or less restricts you in the choice of university you can choose later on as not all universities will accept the same foundation certificate.

If you are talking about the uni self-catered apartments, they aren't easy to get either. Since they are on a first come first serve basis, you gotta apply really early to stand a better chance in getting them, and I think this would definitely put a new student at a disadvantage compared to the current students.

Okay. Which means now right after I have finished SPM then I can straight away go to Aus and take up the diploma course like accounting. I do not have to take up SAM in Malaysia before going there?

If you got SPM 1119 Certificate with a grade C6 and above you would not have to sit IELTS though or some english qualifications during A-lvls or SAM or 1 year of studies at uni

Dude; i`m not sure; but currently with the EST applied into education system; there is no IELTS required
But for me; if you have the time to take IELTS; it will be better.

well; it depends on how good is one english is maybe.
