thanks will get in touch with them...

no wonder arrow on swanston is the cheapest with best facilities...was so tempted when i saw their site...am thinking of going there 1 week earlier...prolly get some temp accomodation..see if i can get a good place...only thing is that i am afraid that most places would have been snapped up..
*
well cheapest but not i wont choose there. 1 week before skool, better come earlier.give you more time to settle in especially searching for a place to rent. It is easier snapped now as rent is rising and supply for housing is stag =1%, so it is not much space to move ard.unimelb, right? try brunswick .

I think they will just fine you $100 on the spot (not that much right? Won't hurt). Multiple offences might result in a charge for fraud. It is generally not a serious offence, but being a civilised citizen with some self-respect, you abide by the rule of law.
*
errr....pay on the spot..they give u ticket infringement notice and pay within tat period..for victoria is aud162.00 ...for concession i dont know.

What do you mean by "think global and respect others good/bad. not trying to be kiasu to die"?

I dont really get it.Besides, whats wrong with being kiasu?

Thats what drives me to work hard but when people ask me things that they dont know,i'll teach them if i know it.
*
think global= open mind, accept different culture views pros/cons. but have own principal. As developed nation, and more globalise market system.Look at long run; be global people.
being kiasu isnt wrong, but being kiasu and not helping/share..thats bad,you got nothing wrong with your method, just need to redefine, interact more and share different view. Mate, you are in aussie, expect to have singapore, aussie, indian, china, japan, italian, irish or Uk ..many more, each of them have different views.

sorry to say but that doesnt apply to every university. i used to have a few lecturers that explicitly asked for a decent level of proficiency in english, and u'll be marked down for shoddily written assignments or incomprehensible presentations. btw, afaik, most mainlanders or koreans/japs are here for english courses, or that if they manage to make the cut for normal courses, they'll usually be back markers. top scorers are few and far between.
*
well, im not sure but i heard from TV(todaytonight) on 4/04 about not speaking english in australia. And one of the Uni(east coast), hav 80% Intl student who dont speaks english. hmm.gif
maybe i got the statistic wrong. Well, like jakesan said, understandable english is good, dont need super bombastic like we are in UK parliment. laugh.gif

QUOTE(katunX @ Apr 14 2008, 11:49 PM)
talking about English, even if some people in Malaysia thought they've already got the decency in English, once your first arrived in Australia and hear the people talk...you will be like, what the..?

QUOTE(babiix @ Apr 16 2008, 08:48 AM)

Yep yep, you should try to finish the tutorial questions before the tute classes.  That way you will be able to identify which problems you need help with, and then you can seek assistance from your tutor.. instead of getting home after the tute class and realising that you infact do not know how to do a particular question - thus needing to wait next week for your next tute tongue.gif

Work smart?  When you do homework, turn off the computer screen/tv/whatever.  Allocate a set amount of time; say 1 hour to finish those tute questions? This will help you not to stall as much tongue.gif  Try and get your work done asap so that you can go out on weekends and feel refreshed for uni once again when it comes around on Monday.
*

Ugh, LOL I'm stuck half way at the course selection page.
I got conditional admit, but when I press continue, it says "THere are no valid courses for you to choose from".
I have outstanding documents though, my Final Results and Proof that I've completed my diploma. But I'm yet to receive those until maybe ... June or something.

I previously applied from IDP as well, but the documents never reached UNSW, they only reach ANU.

try asked the IDP for the updates of the unsw course.tell them your problem.
