Our house is a single story terrace, corner lot, built up about 2000sqft. What would be the current rate per sqft if I wanted to make it a double storey? A ballpark figure would do just to get an idea.

What are the things to prepare for when building a second story ya? For example, will the flooring at my ground floor be damaged?
If so, will it only be a small part (staircase) or the entire floor? Or it won't be damaged at all?
