Hi guys,

I was looking a bit into laminated flooring of our living room. How come prices appear to be that expensive; in Europa laminate is even cheaper then tiles?

Any rough estimate what I would pay (total costs) for 1 square meter (or for example 10 square inch) (included having someone laying it at home)?

Guys..need your advice here....im in the midst of renovating my house. Currently is doing wiring works and the wires will be conceal underneath the wall. the wireman told me that they will hack the wall and then conceal it 'leng leng' for me. But today when I check my house, only to find out that they did not really conceal it in the way i expect. when i confront the wireman, he said that they will only conceal the wall BUT not to smoothen neither to even it up.

upon some checkings with another contractor, he said that the work to smoothen up the wall can cost me about rm1.3k because my house now is full with the conceal marks. it is a double storey house.

has any1 have the same experience like mine? is it normal in this wiring industry that when they said they will conceal the wall, that doest mean that they will even or smoothen up the wall??

die this time.... im in a hurry to move in to the house and they told me that it takes time to complete the works to even up my wall. please help me sad.gif

smoothen the wall = skimming. it makes the wall looks like plaster ceiling, very smooth, but its quite "soft" hence very easily chipped off.

suggest that u get the paint fella to "sandpaper" it - if u get a better one, they can help you skim at selected areas where necesarry. may not be as smooth as full skimmin, but it will do if you not too particular. also, dont paint with glossy paint, will make the unsmoothen part more obvious

yeah, i compared, its much more cheaper to have laminated floor than tiles. too bad i cant have it for my ground floor (as apparently the soil is moist, hence it will absorb water, so not too advisable)

if you're livin on high rise unit, it shud b perfect.

laminated is about RM3 psf (incl instalation) if im not mistaken. i have to check my receipt back home. if your not in a rush, wait for the next home expo in KL. you will get great bargains there. wink.gif

laminated RM3 psf is dirt cheap but what is the quality like? Does it has water resistant, lifetime termite warranty? I'm paying about 6+ psf and getting it from Inovar which provide both the warranties.
