we also think that way.now we put our ST only in big storage box with basking lamp n uvb light.but skatila only use exo terra terrarium coz his ST still small2.for this study week we let our ST play every morning,sambil2 sunbath,ha3..just let them exercise for an hour per day, actually to increase their metabolism, not just sunbath.but they seems happy to walk and eat grasses in front of rumah pengetua,ahak3. laugh.gif u're S&T student rite?or just  ur fren?

em,i didnt dare to say,ha3 laugh.gif nevermind, wait for the others comment.im also newbie here.. smile.gif did u use cat litter sand for ur ST bedding?if u use it,i didnt say it not good for ur ST.but from my experience,if we use that sand as substrate,it will swallowed by our ST coz it easy to stuck or attach with food that we feed our ST.and it can cause impaction to our ST.i have seen skatila's baby poo with a lot of that sand in their shit because their owner before just use cat litter sand as substrate.i just share my experience,if u dont use it,just ignore my word..ha3 thumbup.gif hope ur ST really burmese one..it really difficult to see them in our place..

Sorry to tell you that yours is just an Indian Star !!! But will all make great pets if care diet given properly !!

An underside pic of its plastron will be great !!! But I am 95 % sure already !! The "star " on its back ( yours ) has only 3 or 4 " hand " !! A Burmese Star 's star will have 6 hand - user posted image

Frankly, i never see any baby Burmese Star yet, only for the medium size or consider an adult. Mr. Samperth allready give you the details to defrentciate it. I hope everythings are clear. You also can see the picture of Burmese Stars which i've posted in few pages back.

About the veggies... Your ST still small... They wont it so much & some more its new for the tortoise. So, its will take time for them.

Do you provide your ST with basking lamp & UVB lamp?

You can visit this website if you wanna know more about other vegetables which can feet to your TTT

I do agree with you slackerz. I had the same experience too. So, its really not recommanded to use the Cat Litter Sand as the substrate.
I always suggest my friends to use Cat Litter Recycle Paper as their pets substrate. Its safety & can help to maintain the HUMIDITY too

slackerz, fill the tank with 3"-4" depth of the recycled paper bedding so that it can work as a filter to the dust problem. You will see the dust starts to move down to the bottom of the tank after a while.

Yeah... You need to put 'TEBAL' sikit like 3 - 4 inches... then only the dust will drop down & stay at the bottom part of the tank. Its can last for 1 - 3 months... But its depends on how many of your tortoise & your tank size too.

I dont think he intend to bluff you But the price tag should give some hint on whats being sold

Any price tag from RM 60 - 180 for that 2 + incher Star is bound to be an Indian Star

Burmese star babies will be about 10 X more !!! ie RM 1500 a pc

Yeah. Im agree with SAMPERTH... RM1500 a pc is the cheapest for Burmese Star that i heard so far, there might be higger than that price with this current situations.

Anyway, those sellers especially those pet & aquarium shops people sometime dont even know what type of tortoise that they are selling. Last time during ST still can sell openly, those pet shops people just say "This Tortoise easy to keep one... Just CINCAI feed them with long beans, 'Timun'... Taugeh also can... No problem" They dont even know the right way to take care this ST & never tell their costumers about basking lamp, UVB & Humidity....

ishyshy..
Dont worry about been cheated or not... even its Indian or Sri Lankan Star Tortoise, its still a nice tortoise to keep as your pet. You should feel happy having it as your pet, because nowdays... even u have money, its still not sure you can get it easily. We all here are willing help & guide you about to give a good care for your TTT
