Bro, dont block the basking lamp. That would restrict the heat coming from the bulb.

Ohhh this one for Guinea Pigs. I have 1 too. Why dont you use fish tank? better than this ZooZone...
Anyway, maybe you can put newspaper or etc on the tank cover to lower the humidity....

Its not blocked, its just sitting on a pyramid of planks, the temp at the basking area is at 35-36 degrees.

The temp is good already so a few more cm nearer , lower may " cook " your tortoise !! Is there a water dish inside ? ( If so thats your cause for your higher humidity)

Nope, no water dish inside...this is really doing my head in... rclxub.gif

Just wondering if a higher watt basking light will be able to lower the humidity, somewhere along the lines of 100-150?

Where and how did you take the humidity reading ?? the other side of enclosure or directly under basking light ??

A higher watt light will not only lower humidity but will also increase the temp greatly ie pass the 40 oC mark !!!

Hi,

Is anyone keeping in contact with dzi921?

Can you tell him that if he doesn't reply me about his rep-cal by tomorrow or friday that I'm gonna sell it to other people.

I've tried contacting him through here but unfortunately my messages have been ignored even though he was active in this thread.

I'm not disappointed or mad but uh it's kinda not nice to keep me hanging by thread.

Thanks. : )

I just replied your pm. Sorry for keeping u hanging. Not nice. If u can find a buyer do sell it off, else i can buy from u when i'm back

For others info, i'm away for 1 month to melaka and johor area since last week for work implementation. Kind of last minute announcement. Internet not that convenient. Will be back kl in 3 weeks time.

Missed Sam. Now wife taking care of it smile.gif

I took it somewhere in the middle of the basking light and the cool end of the enclosure.

As for the higher watt, that is one of my concerns of raising the temp too high, but i read somewhere that if the condition in the enclosure is warm and humid it will be ok for stars? As opposed to it being cold and humid.

Feed your feeder fish with that stuff, so that your snapper will get it too by eating the feeder fish.

I bot a heat glo lamp which has lowered the humidity somewhat...

Anyway, read somewhere that as long as the its warm and humid, the stars shld be fine.

But will still switch on the heat glo lamp at nite to lower the humidity, thats all i can do really, still have no idea as to what causes such high humidity... rclxub.gif
