QUOTE he new BitTorrent 6.0.1 brings together BitTorrent's proven expertise in networking protocols with µTorrent's efficient implementation and compelling UI to create a better BitTorrent client.
Features:
* Lightweight client * Local peer discovery * Multiple simultaneous downloads * Configurable bandwidth scheduler * Global and per-torrent speed limiting * Quick-resumes for interrupted transfers * RSS Downloader * Trackerless support (Mainline DHT)
You'll also notice 6.0 comes with BitTorrent DNA, which stands for Delivery Network Accelerator. QUOTE I've already installed it, looks very much like utorrent.. I have too many ongoing downloads, so I haven't tested its performance. Anyone wanna be a mouse, go test and give feedback fast

If it's the same as µTorrent, then... what's the point of this software? I really don't get the point of creating a software which has already been around LoL. PS: Already tested it myself, can't port forward using it (which using µTorrent with the same port says the port is forwarded, wtf? no clue). PPS: What's with the exact same GUI, no creativity much? Eh someone moved my topic here, I wanted to discuss speeds as compared to utorrent 1.8 (there's a topic there in broadband u2u). Wonder if there'll be much feedback now.
ahpek26: it comes with this DNA thing. No idea how it works yet though, people are reporting 10kb/sec increase in speeds in other forums. For your information, bittorrent acquired utorrent. In future, we should be seeing bittorrent only, rather than utorrent. That's my speculation at least.

BitTorrent mainline client was the original BT client released by Bram Cohen who created the BT protocol. As it was an open standard (and the original mainline client was terrible), BT clients such as uTorrent, Azureus, BitComet, etc all showed up. As biatche has pointed out, uTorrent was bought over by BitTorrent so consolidation of the 2 is bound to happen sooner or later.
