Hi guys, let's share about our 7 series on the overclock side. I can only managed to OC my 7800gt with core speed at 480Mhz and memory speed at 1150Mhz. That's the furthest range I can go with 100% stability. Further than that, it would hang my pc if the load is high. What about you guys? Feel free to bump in on anything concerning the topic..

QUOTE(J-Slade @ Jan 27 2008, 12:18 AM) Does it make a different with that increase of 80Mhz core speed and 150Mhz memory? Yeah, i can see the difference.. The frame yet got higher, but just a slight..

QUOTE(TheXxBestxX @ Jan 27 2008, 12:22 AM) why u say wow when your one is better than mine.. Coz in terms of percentage, u went further than me... from 400Mhz to 570Mhz.. while I can only go from 400 to 480..

QUOTE(J-Slade @ Jan 27 2008, 12:24 AM) Hmmm not that I am trying to doubt anything here but I left my 7300GT on stock can play Gears of War with maximum detail. But the reso only at 800 x 600 la Afraid to OC la... but I might try after this TS, why dont u post a guide on the 1st post? Well, u should try OC. The probability for a card to spoil becoz of an OC is very very low. If the clock is set to high, u can see an artifact or ur system would hang. So, later u can just lower the clock.. To OC, u can go find the latest Riva Tuner software. Go and search the software at http://www.guru3d.com. You can also control the fan speed.

Just a question.. Between Core speed and Memory speed.. which clock can be overlocked more in term of percentage??

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 3 2009, 01:15 PM) I'm still using my XFX 7800GT, haven't done any serious overclocking yet. U should try. I'm using 7800GT and it went smoothly on OC. Just don't over 'overclock' it.

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 4 2009, 03:56 PM) What's your max OC, and core temperature? Also, what's the maximum temperature for the core itself? I read somewhere that it was about 110C. I can only managed to OC my 7800gt with core speed at 480Mhz and memory speed at 1150Mhz. That's the furthest range I can go with 100% stability. Further than that, it would hang my pc if the load is high.

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 5 2009, 02:56 PM) Did you do the BIOS voltmod? I'm so far at 505MHz core and 1135MHz memory with the 1.5v voltmod, didn't get me any extra overclocking headroom but it stabilized things at higher speeds. What's your 7800GT model anyway? Nope, i didn't disturb the BIOS voltmod. Afraid la.. hahah.. Mine is Galaxy..

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 5 2009, 09:14 PM) Well you could give it a try, as it only adds an extra 0.1v to the core. Mine shot up a mere 5C after doing the mod, which help me attain stability at high clocks. Not bad for something which takes less than 5 minutes No no no.. I won't take that risk. I'm not a risk taker. Just a 'play it safe' type of guy..

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 18 2009, 03:46 AM) Haven't been doing any overclocking lately, been busy with stress tests for my recent proc overclocking. It should be confirmed stable anytime soon, then next would be my 7800GT Cool, anyway, which company manufactured your gc?
