The GOTY cost $50 and the standard one can be had for $20 used. I read that I can upload the shivering isles from LIVE, but is it free? I have braodband and dont mind spending time downloading over spending money. Are they essentially the same game then?

Shivering Isle is around 2400 MS points IIRC .

Basket, the GOTY Edition Oblivion is not out yet for the Asia Region.

True... that's why I will not buy the expansion until Bathesda decides to release the expansion disc in Asia. 2400MS for one expansion is too expensive. Too bad the US version is not region free.

alright, so if i want to immerse myself with the whole game i might as well get the GOtY? eh listen2... i have a gamefly membership, some sort of netflix rental program for games. I can get the GOtY for the expansion disc and install it onto my HDD, and then buy myself the standard oblivion....

am i doing it right? cuz i read somewhere that the shivering isle disc is actually an installation disc and that we still require oblivion 4 to play the game

yes from what I've read in another forum, that can be done. rent, install, return the disc. but then again... the GOTY edition comes with knights of the nine and all other smaller downloads like thieves den. I don't think you can install these, they're straight from the disc.

oh? and what are those? are they small expansions that include missions or just skins for ure horse?

AFAIK the GotY only has Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isle, the other small small ones still have to download...

anyway, which xbox 360 versions do you guys have? why cant u play the US region locked version?

yes missions and minor things like horse armor and weapons.
So far I've dl the wizard tower, the thieves den, the defenders' castle and what else, I can't remember. These names are not 100% accurate though.

Anyway most of em are under utilized. I've not completed a single one of em. Heck I didn't even finish the main quest. I still play it once in a while though.

till now, there is no news that oblivion is going to release on asia verison

ermm.. why would anyone want to buy it in NTSC-J or the asian version? incompatible to use NTSC US on NTSC j consoles?

I've given up waiting for the GOTY edition, ordered the 1600pts card from PA (I got 900pts left) and gonna download it.
