booking is refundable according to SA.
SA also said that new city will come with everything the jazz got plus VSA.
*
New city will have VSA?!!! Who is the SA saying this? From which honda dealer? Even new Jazz also don't have VSA yet.

QUOTE(devinz @ Nov 18 2008, 11:05 AM)
HI,

From what i understand, both comes with black / dark interior. No more beige.
As for different between E and S should be as follows:

1. Paddle Shift (S)
2. 16" rim (S) and 15" rim (E)
3. Ultraseat (S) and normal seat for (E)
4. Steering volume control (S only)

This is what i got to know. As for performance or pick up, the feel of E is better powered maybe due to lighter and smaller rim compare with S 16"  cool.gif

Don't think new city comes with ultraseat where honda msia website alry put 60:40 reclining seat just like thailand, india & spore version.
http://www.honda.com.my/news-events/news159_p_10112008.cfm

I do hope that honda msia put in auto retractable side mirrors for new city coz thailand, india & spore version all are manual retractable. How can honda take away this handy feature which can be found in facelifted outgoing city?!

hmm not sure whether the new city has the retractable mirror or not, belum seen it in flesh yet. but thai city has it as claimed by this delicious sauce:
*
Well, it mentioned (retractable) but not (auto retractable), could be manual retractable. Manual retractable = retractable also rite? so i'm not quite sure whether thailand version really have auto retractable side mirrors. I dont see any retractable push small button near the side mirrors adjustment panel at the driver door in all the photos shown in thai website abt the new city either.

I am going to thailand tomorrow~ will be back on next Tuesday~ if possible, i will take some close shoot to the new Honda City for u guys~ which part of the car u guys wish to look into clearer more? hehe
*
The headlights on/off switch behind steering near paddle shift, i heard there is rear fog lamps for new city(not red reflector type like in vios), just wander how it works. Then driver side window winding up/down button panel to show any auto retractable side mirrors button, TQ.

Added on November 22, 2008, 11:25 amToday a senior SA confirmed the following few things to me after his training in melaka:-

1. Tentatively the official launching date will be 18th Dec. 2008.
2. 1st batch of production to roll out in 1st week of January 2009. Good news to those who booked earlier! Can get new car before CNY.
3. Priced at not more than 85k for low spec. and not more than 90k for high spec. (I dont know whether i can trust him on this or not).
4. Five colours only to choose; blue (the one which always shown in website), crystal black (instead of nighthawk black), alabaster silver, bold beige and sparkle grey. (Why they dont offer polished metal?)
5. Feel more torquey compare to outgoing vtec city.
6. No ultra seat.
7. High spec. version comes with auto retractable side mirrors (this is what i want to hear).

1.WRook - Silver - Hi Specs - July
2.Chris - Not yet confirm - Low Spec - End of Oct
3.Elru - Havent decided - Hi Specs - Early Sept
4.vitocit - TBA - Highest spec regardless the price - Early October (No.6 in the list).

The red city's sport rims look nice, just like civic 2.0 but only got 4 holes (instead of 5 holes), where to find? The picture angle on red city make it looks very sporty even without bodykit.

yup same here. thanks for sharing the info. Since its from Senior SA, probably can take his words for it, rite.

btw, isnt it the sparkle grey looks a bit bluish compared to the polished metal which looks grey? so the grey we saw on autocar this month is which color?
*
The one we saw in autocar is polished metal metallic, which i think is a purely dule grey colour, like that i think sparkle grey is much better and the only choice for me liao smile.gif Sparkle grey is very dark grey n close to black but with some dark blueish effect at certain angle. Actually blueish silver is a very nice colour too on new city, my personal opinion.

Deposit was 2k n refundable.

No ultra seat is a marketing gimmick play by honda, i'm sure new city facelift will have ultra seat later. If honda gives everything the best in the 1st hand then honda will be cracking their head later what else to offer in the facelift version haha....am i rite honda?

Ya, i think i heard it wrongly earlier when my SA telling me over the phone on those 5 colours but i still get 4 colours correct. I mixed out polished metal (pm) and sparkle grey (sg). Just checked how r the actual colour of pm and sg looks like, actually still prefer sg compare to pm (if can choose) coz it looks darker on sg. Both colours are grey, sg is darker n got dark blue ingredient inside whereas pm seems lighter a bit n greenish on certain angle. Those who wanted to know how exactly pm colour on new city can refer to autocar magazine.

The senior SA that i mentioned earlier still saying that the price shown in the "new city excitement" catalogue are not confirmed yet, honda will priced it at the most 90k or lower for premium spec, this is what he told me today, he still said wait n see on 18th Dec.

that just give me an idea! maybe i should start doing it now with my current ride, hopefully can survive it and get my name in Malaysia Book of Records, sure will get some extra cash out of it (and insurance too), to pay for the extra cost of the new city. extremist hardcore city fan lol.
i pray and hope that its really really really wont be more than 90K. its not really i couldnt afford another 5k, its just the conscious of paying too much for it that would make me feel like being ripped. unless i get myself a sponsor....hmm i just remembered my boss's dirty little secret hehehe.

ok decided, polished metal metallic for me then! laugh.gif
*
Well, 5k extra if loan for 7 years doesn't make much different hehe smile.gif

new city std spec. and premium spec. price will be different at least min 5k and above, if not most of the people will go for premium spec, why buy std spec if the price only different in say 3k for example, premium spec more resale value, if i'm used car buyer i will definitely choose premium spec later.

I spoke to a SA at the USJ showroom and he tells me that the price of the premium spec is at 89+k. The SA's have all gone for a learning session for the new City this week in Malacca
*
RM89,800 for premium spec is OTR price without insurance and RM84,800 for std spec is OTR without insurance, that's the price i got from senior SA so far. With insurance:-

Premium spec = RM89,800.00 + RM2,539.50 = RM92,339.50
Std. spec = RM84,800 + RM2,409.50 = RM87,209.50

Prices before any discount? So any discount will be given?
*
Newly launch model no discount, take it or leave it smile.gif

Wrong calculation for insurance in my previous post, edited.

1st RM1,000 insured is RM251.50 (for 1.5cc car) and the rest is RM26.00 per RM1000

So for OTR price of RM89,800, insured amount shud be 89k for new car,

RM251.50 + (88 * RM26) = RM2,539.50

Those have 55% NCB is RM1,142.80 + RM150 windscreen insurance (optional) = RM1,292.80

yeap.
current city Pros:
1.CVT gearbox for smoother ride and fuel efficient
3.At its prime stage, no major bugs/fault etc
4.Goodies of retraction mirror, water repellent upholster, ultra seats...etc
5.Cheaper than coming new city
6.Good discount
7.2 year free services + warranty

current city Cons:
1.Looks? (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder lol)
2.Depreciation because going to be phased out soon
3....

anyone wan to add more?

if you are intended to use it in long term, then i think its a good buy.

If anybody finds out the "finalised" OTR price before the launch (ie. 18th), please do let us know yah so that I can decide on whether to stick to the S-Spec or go for the E-Spec..

Can't wait either smile.gif

Today only few days from 18th Dec, does it make any different?

Hi guys.. have something to confirm with the interior part. the middle arm rest (no. 1) is that come with S spec and E spec?
and the back seat the arm rest (no. 2) also come with S spec and E spec? thanks  smile.gif
*
I think front mid arm rest comes with both specs and rear mid arm rest only comes with E-spec only according to "new city excitement" catalogue.
