My source in Honda M'sia said that the City will be launched after the launch of the Jazz... The Jazz will be out in June or July this year...

Ermm, they're still developing the City... And it's based on the Jazz platform, hence it's normal for the City to be out after the Jazz...

so far read around...only thing can guess about the city....
1) i-vtec, 1.3 or 1.5 unknown
2) CVT 2.0 (new CVT or CVT with better logic?)
all is rumour everywhere la....dunno wat will come out too....
i m not in rush...so i m waiting for it too tongue.gif
*
The new City will most probably get a 1.5L i-VTEC engine and a conventional 5-speed autobox...

because last 2 week got road show shown NEW HONDA STREAM....and the JAZZ (YELLOW) also got....
so i tot that JAZZ is NEW edition... tongue.gif
*
The new Jazz doesn't look like that, but in terms of personal preference, I still prefer the current Jazz's design...

QUOTE(acid_head @ Jan 28 2008, 02:01 PM)
i saw the new honda fit spec...1.3 produce 100++ hp and 1.5 produce 120++...izit true? the model look alike ep3..
how bout the msia version?
*
The M'sia version will be built in Thailand, and we'll be getting the 1.5L i-VTEC version only... As for the transmission, we'll most probably get the 5-speed auto instead of the CVT...

Hmm... 5-speed auto... where the CVT?
*
CVT may not make it to ASEAN countries... Personally, I hope to get the CVT gearbox...

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Jan 29 2008, 11:15 AM)
wth....5-speed auto...no kidding....
y the hell honda switch back to conventional gearbox instead of CVT
*
Well, according to a survey done by Honda, people in ASEAN prefers conventional autobox rather than CVT... sad.gif

Actually the CVT is the unique feature and also one of the selling point for City.

I'm believing that CVT in hot weather country have reliability issue, IMO Toyota & Honda using the same reason to avoid bringing in more CVT.
*
CVT is a very efficient transmission system...

Actually, CVT is very reliable so as long as you service it regularly... For Honda's CVT, as long as you change the CVT oil every 20,000KM, you'll have a problem-free driving experience...

City/Jazz owners who complain about their CVT having problems is becoz they forgot/neglected to change their CVT oil as instructed in the owner's manual...

Honda City i-DSI - RM74k±
Honda City V-tec - RM84k±

So when new model arrive, gonna be RM80k± for i-DSI, while RM90k± for V-tec?
*
There's no more i-DSI for the new City, dude, only i-VTEC available.

i rmb last time the i-DSI loaded with 4 passengers plus whole boot of luggage going uphill managed a 16.2km/l.

wonder what's the fc claimed by Honda on this new i-vtec huh  hmm.gif

btw, from the 45degree front left angle the City looks like a euro civic  sweat.gif

Not sure, we'll have to wait and see the reviews of this new City later on...

Many companies do that.  Look at Nissan, their Murano, Latio and Livina fronts also have the same design.  Toyota's Camry, Altis and Vios have the same design too.  Even Toyota's 1st gen Camry looks like the SEG Corolla.

This is what we call "Design Language", each carmaker have their own design language and it changes from time to time...

Honda City is an entry-level car, it's targeted at junior executives to mid-level managers, from there you can roughly guess the age range...

bansai proton~ pangsai~ lol. anyway, my cheap advise, spent max around 1/3 of your salary for car.
*
Yup, that's the rule of thumb... But during hard times such as now, even the 1/3 salary rule will be quite tough to survive...

seems like entry level car is not so affordable for majority of youngsters eh. and 3k - 4k salary is almost equal to a low rank manager pay today. so how many manager are out there?
*
Yeah, sad that young executives can't even afford an entry level car here in M'sia...

The closest competitor is actually Hyundai Elantra 2008. Just viewed and test drive this model. Was deciding whether to get this or L15A. Actually if L15A is priced around 85-90k, might be getting Elantra as it offers PLENTY...yes its PLENTY of goodies and nice specs compare to City. How? Resell value is not a problem as will not plan to change car the next 5 years at least.
*
You're only planning to buy the engine ah? tongue.gif
