I have read the comparison between new Honda City vs present Toyota Vios on Bangkok Post Motoring online. New Honda City is a better car all around compared to Toyota Vios. It is stylish, sporty, fuel efficient, aerodynamic and its interior is more luxurious than Toyota Vios. Beats Vios hands down! Honda The Power Of Dreams. By the way, what is the current interest rate for car loans? Can anyone tell me the exact on the road prices for S and E specs?

Can any of you Honda fans out there tell me the differences between new Honda City S and E specs? I would like to know whether the S spec has electric foldable side mirrors, foldable 60/40 rear seats, adjustable rear seat head rest, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and fog lights. I live in Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang and plans to book the new City in April next year with the hope that the National Automotive Policy will be reviewed and car prices can go down. Maybe I can get a discount if I buy the new City next year. Normally discounts are given a few months after the launching of a new car model. I am a big Honda fan. Honda The Power Of Dreams

I went to Honda showroom this morning. SA told me the following things: 1. Unconfirmed On The Road price for new Honda City S spec is around RM84,000 and around RM89,00 for E spec. 2. S spec doesn't have the following items - side mirror signal light, fog light, paddle shift. Rear seats cannot be folded. Has 15" alloy rims. Other than that, same as E spec. 3. S spec has electric foldable side mirror too. 4. Waiting period to get car is about 3 months. 5. If book on 18 December (launching date), can get car in March 2009. 6. SA is willing to give me RM800 discount from his commision. 7. No more 2 years free service, only has 6 months or 10,000 km (whichever comes first) free service. 8. New City is available in 5 colours. 9. Car will be at showroom on 17 December.
Added on December 4, 2008, 7:28 pmElru, I see that you are online now. I guess you are a big Honda City fan like me. I have a 2005 Honda City i-DSI. Very fuel efficient and good car. That's why I have decided to buy the new Honda City. Soon I will have 2 Honda City (1 old and 1 new). Honda The Power Of Dreams

To mikelee and sysh, The Honda SA who can give me up to RM800 discount from his comission for the new Honda City is based at Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. hollyfish, I think the average waiting period is about 3 months if you book after Chinese New Year. If sales are not that good, maybe waiting period can be reduced to 2 months. SA told me if I book on 18 December (launching date), I can get the car in March 2009. Thanks for the nice photos, mikelee. If Honda price the new City right, I think it will beat the Vios hands down! Added on December 5, 2008, 3:52 am2 more weeks to go before new Honda City is launched. Waiting patiently for 18 December to see and test drive this latest baby from Honda and get a Honda T-shirt. Malaysia will be the fifth country to launch this car after Thailand, India, Singapore and China. I have watched Asimo, Honda's humanoid robot which is also the world's one and only humanoid robot in action at the roadshow in Queensbay Mall, Penang. It can talk, walk, run, dance, paint, kick a ball, conduct an orchestra and carry things. Awesome! It's truly amazing what the power of dreams can do. Added on December 5, 2008, 3:57 amElru, have you booked the new Honda CIty? Added on December 5, 2008, 3:59 amAny of you Honda fans living in Penang state? I would like to know you. I am a Penangite. QUOTE(sysh @ Dec 5 2008, 07:55 AM) Hi Steven, Thanks for the info. Dang, too bad you're in Penang whilst I'm in KL. Can't enjoy the same discount like yourself. Seems like the SA here isn't giving anything at the moment Trying to get some freebies oso quite hard. I do hope they take into account the weakening economic situation and price the car well < RM90k OTR. Can't wait for the new car too. Think I should book now, don't want to wait so long. What color are you going for, Steven? Most likely I will go for Alabaster Silver. Silver is my favourite colour. Have you booked the new City? I think I will book mine in the 1st quarter of next year. The latest news is that car loan interest rates may go down further. Possibly lower than 3.2%. Hopefully can go down to 2.XX%. Maybe by Q1 2009, car loan interest rates are 2.XX%, car price go down and discounts are given. Then I will book the new City.

Here are a few photos of the new City. I like the one with the gorgeous chicks taken during the launching in Bangkok, Thailand in September.. New City really looks like a mini Civic, especially from the side view. Yeah, new City beats Vios inside out and upside down!
Added on December 5, 2008, 10:10 amSA said he will give me the following things when I book new City: 1. Up to RM800 discount 2. 7" front windscreen sunshade 3. RM300 tint voucher 4. Coil mats 5. Sandblasting number plate I think I will ask him to give me one full tank of petrol as well! This post has been edited by Steven2916: Dec 5 2008, 10:10 AM

QUOTE(hush_puppies @ Dec 5 2008, 10:12 AM) Sadly red color is not available for malaysia Honda City. I love red! Ganas! but polished metal metallic also nice. I am booking it tomorrow and plan to loan for 50% for 5 years. dunno about the current newest interest rate yet. my friend just back from malacca HM, he is one of the vendor of Honda malaysia. He was told that red color and white color will available after July next year. and Honda already prepared 1 batch for showing and 1 batch for test drive at Malacca Production plant. Get ready guys. less than 2 weeks to go Yeah, the countdown begins right now. Means another 13 more days to go. The excitement is building up now. If Honda Malaysia price the new City at a reasonable price, I think it will sell like hot cakes and really beat the Vios. Did your SA give you any other information especially the on the road price? They should know the price by now. Your SA is at which Honda dealer?

QUOTE(sysh @ Dec 5 2008, 10:16 AM) Wow! That's alot of goodies. How come in KL don't have such things?? Is it 'cos they're trying to bump up the sales in Penang? Anybody who have good deals in the Klang Valley do let me know before I book.. Btw, what is this Coil mats and Sandblasting Number Plate?? Coil mats are the type of car floor mats which come with artificial strands of fibre. Sandlasting number plate of the car is done at the front and rear windscreens to prevent theft of the car. Actually, Honda dealers in Penang are more generous when it comes to giving discounts and free gifts. My SA said now they are giving RM5,000 discount for outgoing City VTEC. i-DSI out of stock, VTEC very few units left. Clearing stock before launch of new City. Added on December 5, 2008, 10:33 amQUOTE(mikelee @ Dec 5 2008, 10:20 AM) Coil mats are those 3M type of mats lay on the floor on both front and back passenger seats. Sandblasting number plate is like those number plate written on the side windows of your car. Usually it is written very small on the bottom of the window. I may be able to see the new City on 17 December, a day before the official launch. The car will be at the showroom on 17 December. Means 12 days more to go! Hopefully new Honda CIty S spec is about RM84,000 OTR and E spec about RM89,000 OTR. Otherwise I will wait for another 6 months for the interest rate and car price to go down before I book it. Global economy is not good now and Honda has started to retrench employees in UK and Japan. I am not in a hurry to buy the new City. I am waiting for the best deal. Added on December 5, 2008, 6:26 pmQUOTE(elru @ Dec 5 2008, 06:20 PM) free servicing means they dont charge you for labor right? do you still have to pay for the engine oil? Free service means everything is free. You don't have to pay a single sen. Labour, engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs etc are all free. My 2005 City i-DSI has 2 years free service (already over). I don't have to pay a single sen to service my car for 2 years! This post has been edited by Steven2916: Dec 5 2008, 06:26 PM

Hello all you new Honda City fans out there, My SA just called me and informed me that the new City will be available for viewing at the showroom next Monday (15th December)! This is 3 days before the official launch on 18th December. I am invited to view and possibly test drive the car next Monday, just two days from today. I think I will be able to know the exact OTR price for 1.5S and 1.5E next Monday. Of course I will get the brochure and price list. I am really excited now!. I will post a long commentary about the new City next Monday night after I come back from viewing and test driving the car. For your information, the Honda 3S dealership is located at Butterworth, Penang. Looks like Honda fans in Penang will be able to view and test drive the new City first. Possibly, I will be among the first in Malaysia to see, touch and test drive the new City. The excitement is building up! Cheers!

QUOTE(monster2020 @ Dec 12 2008, 09:31 PM) Wah while Trasporting you can still take the picture cool... I have a feeling the new Honda City will reach Honda showrooms nationwide by tomorrow. That's why SA told me to view it on Monday (15 December). By tomorrow night, the car may be at the showroom. The cars are being transported to all the Honda dealers throughout the country today and tomorrow, I think. Added on December 12, 2008, 9:49 pmQUOTE(W.ROOK @ Dec 12 2008, 08:14 PM) Some Pics but pls don't ask which branch. Yep, that's the new Honda City's rear lights. I think it will be a best seller if the price is right. This post has been edited by Steven2916: Dec 12 2008, 09:49 PM

Guys, can you confirm the price for S spec is RM84,000 OTR and E spec RM89,000 OTR? I think Toyota is shaking now especially after 18th December, many wannabe Vios buyers may cancel their bookings and go for the new City after they see how nice the CIty is. QUOTE(elru @ Dec 13 2008, 11:08 PM) lol DPM is full of crap just like his name. so he wants us citizen to spend to save the economy, didnt see he do his part as finance minister to help and his kwsp plan is even bigger bull load opposite the size of his tiny brain good for ntg other than womanizing. maybe he can do us a favor by remove that silly tax on foreign cars, yea that might help. i suppose its 89k + insurance + tax + etc = 92K. if ur NCB is high maybe still within 90k - 91K gua. Guess the S spec will cost about RM86,000 OTR. S spec is good enough for me. New City beats the Vios inside out and upside down. Vios cannot beat new City at all, except maybe the price. New City is longer, higher, wider and more spacious than Vios, not to mention sleeker, sportier and more stylish. Honda The Power Of Dreams

QUOTE(vexus @ Dec 13 2008, 11:16 PM) food, phone bill, entertainment. Petrol a month at least rm400 to 500 Honda city maintenance at least rm1000.00 you should bring in. Minimum rm500. how frequent you use your car? for sales? you die standing. Yeah, what are you talking about? It's ridiculous to spend RM500 monthly to maintain the City. City maintenance is very low. Just change engine oil and oil filter every 5000 km. That's all.
