Brother,i just read on a magazine yerterday.THere's only I-VTEC version available. 120PS @88kW frm the 1.5l engine.Sounds nice.I agree with you,Vios isn't that worth to upgrade.
*
sure, i would say vios is juz remain old technology with new skin, this is normally done by toyota lor, like using 1.5 avanza engine into totally new Toyota Rush. mean old technology to new skin as all new vehicle.
so if u plan to upgrade, juz pick the latest and most innovative technology such as city although is slightly expensive, but u get what u paid. i do agree that toyota is generating very high profit margin coz they selling their brand more than selling a worthwhile car.

actually both also same class as japanese entry level cars. its not really considered as higher class than vios, but it has certainly improve up to few standards higher. so wut vios going to do next i wonder, still using bak the same engine and change skin only...
*
consumer will judge it's technology and outlook lar.. vios and city definitely in the same class. but in term of pricing, vios is cheaper lar... so what u think.

i think honda will juz release 2 version, V and SV version for competing E and G variant of vios. for competing the S variant vios, modulo kit will take the place. i believe honda will never put a lower like Toyota did for J spec.

n73me has the same idea as me. If they go with the V and SV version, they will lose out on the Vios J market, I don't think Honda can or is willing to lose out on that market. They're not Mercedes or BMW, their primary target market is still towards the lower to upper middle class of consumers. In fact, if you talk about brand strength, I would say Toyota carries more weight. And the modulo kit is just an aerokit, other than aesthetcs, there's no added value. It would be more of a draw to offer say either cruise control or xenon headlights over its rival which is offering a lousy aerokit with their car.
*
honestly i dun think honda will come out with lower spec like toyota did for J spec to compete with it.
only toyota will wan to monopolise whole market, and only toyota wll offer many type of variant, only toyota will launch alot of vehicle in every category. juz take a look on RM 60-100k market, toyota have avanza, vios, rush, innova, altis 1.6. what honda have only city so sad.

Honda is no match to Toyota...

Toyota company is 2nd largest in the world behind General Motors
*
toyota is selling the most vehicle in the world in term of volume, no one can match him at the moment.

Honda City is an entry-level car, it's targeted at junior executives to mid-level managers, from there you can roughly guess the age range...
*
i guess it's best for 20-35 year old or as family second car for housewife hehe...
u need around RM 1k to pay the installment so salary need around 2.5k-3.5k. all is rough estimate only.

See lo. If one has no other commitment (housing loan), then one with RM 1,800~2,000 can also own this car...
*
Rm 2k actually can buy also lar, better than spend RM 58k for proton. less headache for future.

sigh~~~ that's why~
I am 24 this year, RM2800/mth. I think I will need to stick back to Poton car =\
Just afraid I save 20k to get Poton instead of buying Honda city but at last I use this 20k on servicing and repairing the Poton =.=''
Some told me dun ever think of Poton. It brings problems only. Some told me dun ever spend lot on car. It wastes money only =.=''
*
try get japanese car rather than local car.. my advise lar, unless u only use ur car for 8am working and 5pm go b home then get a proton BLM or motorbike.

QUOTE(franson @ Oct 4 2008, 01:27 PM)
Let say the car is RM85k. d/p RM20k. Left RM65k.
Go for 7 years. Interest is about 4% = RM18.2k
Total sum is 65k + 18.2k = 83.2k
RM83,200 / (7 years * 12 months) = RM990/month

2000 - 990 = 1k left
food(300) + accommodation(200) + petrol(300) = 800
1k - 800 = 200 left

still not included service for the car, toll, entertainment, daily things, etc etc and 2k is nett or haven't deduct for EPF SOCSO.
If like brother elru said, 30k - 50k d/p then should be no problem.

Anyone has booked this Honda City already? mind to share how you guys handle the payment? thanks
*
haha it depends lar, nowadays if u never spend in ur car or house, the money u will spend in other purpose also(go sing karaoke, go genting gamble, spend few thousand on changing sport RIM etc)... at least u spend on car or house u can used them.

Yeah, sad that young executives can't even afford an entry level car here in M'sia...
*
Everything is setup by our G, makin our entry level car juz for proton. 1 thing is proton come with alot of problem, se need to spend high maintaince though. that is why nowadays youngster are more poor than last generation. honestly, if u can afford, pls spend more to get honda or toyota and dun ever think of our local brand...
