I sit for SPM on 2001 and until now i dont have the spm cert. that means its already 7 years.

i asked some of my frens where to get my spm, out of 10 ppls,
5 told me to go to school office
another 5 told me to go take from jabatan pendidikan negeri.

but then, where exactly i can get my original spm cert?

spm cert school will keep if not wrong.. or you may ask from LPM (Lembaga Peperiksaan Malaysia) for the replacement in case your school lost and dono pass to where..

but stpm is only 1 year valid because is directly under MPM (Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia).. and ex-stpm leaver din get the cert after 1 year issued will need to go MPM office get and a fine imposed..

If school din have,it probably send back to LPM already...
Coz already 7 years...school won't keep it for that long....

But, I still don't understand why the examination board is so SLACK by only giving out certs 2-3 years after SPM.

totally agreed.i think school not keep it more than 3years.... y no go take it when spm 2001 result out ??you very busy ? try go back to school ask the teacher how to get the spm cert back...they sure can help you

by default.. it shud be with your school.. but in your case.. it might be in cockroaches stomach edy LOL..

what do u mean? im previously go to collect my cert 6 month after SPM.. guess what.. im the last 10 person who collect it..

im not sure if normal school is differs from boarding school..

depends on what school you go, i collected my cert 1 year after it was issued. Just go to your school's office and asked them if they still have SPM cert for your year, then you sign a form confirming you took possession of the cert and then finished. Anyway i saw a lot of empty spaces in the signature column, i guess some of my class mate didn't bother to take it.

Yeah , you could get it from your school like what the others said earlier , some school will mail it to your house if you are studying oversea , but if after 7 years you still don't have it I think it is better you go directly to LPM and got it from them.

Btw im also waiting for my spm cert , somehow i lost the result slip when trying to register for college last year

My PMR cert arrived 2 years after I took the exam. I have yet to receive my SPM cert yet.

there is a PMR and SPM cert? i only thought there was the results slip lol. must we take it?

lots of misconceptions and misinformation in this thread.

i. schools will usually keep ur SPM certificate until:
- u or somebody from ur family take it from them;
- u requested it by mail or delivery;
- the school updates their records and send back unfinished business back to the pejabat pendidikan daerah (PPD) and eventually jabatan pendidikan negeri.

ii. schools does not send certificates to u unless requested or instructed. remember that schools will only have ur last address and phone number. so they will not just happily send out ur certificates to an unconfirmed address.

iii. if the certificate is missing, u can inquire at the state education deparment or PPD. they can file a request for a new certificate for u from lembaga peperiksaan.

iv. lembaga peperiksaan usually issues original certificate to schools as soon as correction period ended. i believe correction period is about a month after SPM results are officially released.

hey is the truth... after 1 year you are taking.. there will be certs sent to ur schooll... but in another 1 year time, if you din go to get it in the school office, you have to go to LPM in kl to get it... they will send it back to KL...

I think don't...
My school will ask yourself to go KL MPM take it yourself...

When will they come out? How long does it take? I am from 2006 batch

same as me. after 3years also i havent take yet. all say go school take. but also malas to go take.

lol funny thread. But SPM cert is actually a very important cert and its required to further your studies almost everywhere u go. At least to me it is.

So make sure u collect it before its too late ( inside cockroach stomach)

Ya,start count from result announced,it takes about 6-9 months only....
I already taken my SPM cert......
