OMG i can't believe this joke of the day man

QUOTE(soulfly @ Jan 24 2008, 10:45 PM)
Does it really matter? Sony's body focus motor is much faster than Canon's USM... unless silent focusing is your priority. For us, Sony and Minolta users.... lens with built-in focusing mechanism is just a bonus, not a priority.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/473260/+900#

now i'm seriously interested to see some facts on that

i had the same problem with my 50mm f1.8 with cheapo hoya filter. Just take out a while to see if the UV filter is the culprit smile.gif

later u can blow it if there are dust and put the filter back

the canon 55-250 IS is a good one though... but in your case i will suggest you to take the sigma 18-200 OS which i think is slightly below RM 1700

you might want to try the 55-250 IS... i tried it and is quite impressed with the lens. for less than RM 800 you should try it out.

there are some adapter, but auto focus won't work. You will need to manually focus it.

that's the 1st reason you gave when people ask.

is that the best reason you can come up with?

did you know that some reports found that the Sigma 70-300 is the best among low-end tele and the Canon ranks around middle / back of the few lenses compared?

anyway my point is. warranty issue is just 1 factor and you're probably the first I've ever come by to tell someone to get a lens just because of warranty issue. c'mon la, there's other issues like build quality and output quality. smile.gif

anyway I've no problem recommending the Sigma 70-300 and Tamron 70-300. they're good low-end tele lenses.
*
second that, no doubt for outdoor the sigma 70-300 is a good performer / price ratio.

well of course the other problem i see is the skin peeling of the sigma coating.

Lens is sharp and is up to standard. Those with HSM is silent and fast. I can't think of a bad sigma lens for the moment.

Don't know i heard from some people  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

i know i had a look on the sigma 70-300 i can say its very good as well just that it keeps making me  rclxub.gif  lol Dilemma rclxub.gif

btw the shutter speed and aperture is like a sea saw?

i heard before they say
aperture big , shutter speed [ ........]?
*
big aperture, fast shutter

small aperture slower shutter

it's always 1/x

i have been searching for lens on the internet this few days.

something going in my mind now.

tamron 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 AF Di-II LD IF Macro.

anybody own this and know about the price?

i need more hong bao d.

any lens at 1k suitable for use to travel? general purpose lens. atm i also wan a telephoto, but something like the tammy above, it sounds fun. =D
*
try the sigma 18-200 OS (optical stabilizer)

the tamron 18-250 doesn't have it and can be quite a challenge when using at 250mm

can anyone tell me what is the price of 24-70 2.8L USM in M'sia? It's USD899 here on expresscamera vs 1+k on amazon.

Darn it.. now dilemma between the 24-70 2.8L USM (1kg) vs the 70-200 2.8L IS (USD 1129)

the 70-200 is so big and heavy, I'm trying to see how often I would take this lens out and say, go snap-snap in 1 Utama if got events there.

my 55-250 isn't much usable under low light leh.. That's y the dilemma now.

I searched the forum, but don't see any prices on this one lah.
*
US 899 - less than RM 3K.. nice price... that lens cost like more than RM 3500 in KL.

it depends on wat u want to shoot. The 24-70 f2.8 definitely doesn't make it if u want to shoot from far low light. If u can go near the subject then the 24-70 f2.8 is a better one.

i have the same one for sale, RM 20. Reason being, under utilised. I use it for like less than 5 times. My hand too small, doesn't grab nicely.

Hi vikingw2k,

Pls updated my profile lens.

The Sigma 24-70mm change to Tamron 17-50mm.

I advise next time dun buy Sigma lens cause the reject rate high compare to the third party lens.

Tamron and the Tokina is the best 2 third party lens maker.

I try kau kau on the 17-50mm last Monday.

Focusing is fast but dunno how fast compare to Canon.

But 1 thing, i try canon 24-70mm f2.8 from my friend.

This lens very very sharp and fast. I really like it but on budget.

Recommend.

Pls try the canon 24-70mm lens than u know what is damn sharp and good.
*
wat happened to the sigma ? back/front focus ?

yeh the canon 24-70 f2.8 is a great lens, given the price almost double the tamron 17-50 f2.8. Getting the tamron is actually a wise choice if u r on budget.
