those 3rd party grips have portrait controls too? if yes, then okay. but i've seen a few that don't have the controls and all they have is a battery compartment.

Get 50mm f1.8 first. You'll only need a BG when you have bigger and heavier lens smile.gif
*
BG=Battery Grip? Use with bigger lense?

Yeap. And I think it takes like 1-2 hours to get through the jam there. then another 1-2 hours to get out from the area. My friend living in Batu Caves told me this. Ask me to stay away during Thaipusam because of the insane jam. sweat.gif

Yes, it shouldn't be any problem if you are still with kittylens + 50mm f2.8. You'll only need a BG baaaadly when you are mounting a bigger and heavier lens on ya DSLR. That's where a BG comes in handy by stabilizing your DSLR when you are shooting potraits.

why not upgrade straight to 40D or 5D? xD

It's actually useful when you have a heavy lens like C70-200mm f2.8 L. It helps to stabilize the body when you are shooting vertically. On top of that, shooting vertically is much easier using  the extra buttons on the battery grip.
*
If got that lense and and no batt grip and wan to take portrait shots, can support the bottom part with one hand, another hand holding the lense, and set timer. laugh.gif

*
Yeah. I seem to use the 17mm a LOT. laugh.gif
Perhaps I should get this, but then always thinkin with the price can get a 50mm + 70-300mm macro. rclxub.gif

hmm. now i realize maybe i don't need a zoom/macro lense so much. since most photos are using 17mm lengths. sweat.gif

Just bought a cheap flashgun.

Never play an external flash before. Getting this one will lets me learn how to control the flash and soon when I really master it, then I'll upgrade to a Canon Speedlite. =)

Bought for RM570 which included the Nissin Di622 itself, 4 AA 2500mAh batteries, and a Lambency Diffuser.
What do you think?

By the way, it's a pretty good flash, does slave, poweful and the only thing that concern is the refreshing time.
*
Wow. This actually looks pretty good. biggrin.gif

How is the refresh time? How many seconds?
