Yeah true, looking at the features, prices will be quite expensive if it's a Canon. Hahaha. So probably if the price of 400D will drop to around 1.9k. I'll get it for sure. But for the body only tho, lenses will probably go for 18-55mm IS. lol.

True goldfries. They are all of the entry level dSLR range. How about S5is to 400D/450D?

400D + 17-85IS will be a good choice. But why not wait a while cause when 450D reach our shore, 400D prices will drop abit for sure. =]

But the 18-55mm lens produces soft images. I'd opt for the 18-55mm IS if its me. Have been trying out the 350D with 18-55mm these days and found out that most of the images produced are soft.

True, but if great cameras were to pair up with great photographers, then thats the "BOOM!". So i guess probably wads best is train your photography skills with your present camera first and then when you feel it's time or the cam couldn't fullfill your needs anymore, den it is time for some upgrades. So i guess the camera and photographer do play roles in the world of photography.

Haha. USM dun cost alot isn't it? Yeah probably they prefer an all rounder lens like the 18-200. But i can see the the image quality from the 55-250mm IS is great.

USM = Ultra Sonic Motor, a kind of AF motor drive. Less noisy i presume. Cos S5 also using USM with IS! xD
And yes arshad, it is below 1k. Great value for such a good lens. I wun say it is perfect tho. This post has been edited by csrulez: Jan 24 2008, 03:41 PM |

The 55-250mm IS is made to pair up together with the 18-55mm IS lens. So if you've got both of these, it should be enough to cover the range from 18-250mm already. lol.
I'm a future 450D/400D user. |

Malaysia will probably sell it cheaper than the US. For example the A200 is also selling at around 799USD (RM2.7k+) is US but here in Malaysia, it is only sold at the price of 1999RM. I guess it fully depends on Canon M'sia to decide on the price, but of course there's a minimum price for it, not less that the cost+shipping amount.
Added on January 24, 2008, 4:01 pm arshad - if both lenses add up together i believe it should be lesser than 1.5k. So why not? Since you have a budget of 1.7k? This post has been edited by csrulez: Jan 24 2008, 04:02 PM |

The 18-55mm IS should be selling around 500-600+? And the 55-250mm IS is selling at 850+. So add up together will be around 1450 like that la. Try asking around the forumers here, myjunk has got a 55-250mm IS. lol.
