photography is a very expensive hobby! ahhh!!!!
wish list/shopping list :
-flash gun
-kit lens replacement
-tripod
-bag
-battery grip
-telelens
-wideangle lens.

all this cost a car already!!! wonder when i can have all of above stuff.

1 thing want to ask, i buy a flash and play with the kit lens or i buy a kit lens replacement, the tammy f2.8 17-50 is better? both also 1k +
*
its like that lah whistling.gif Investment also what ever you want to buy , it depends on what are your needs hmm.gif ?

QUOTE(julchin_09 @ Feb 29 2008, 01:49 AM)
Yes. Everyone wanting to take the plunge should know this first. Its not about getting camera and kit lens only. Which I've seen in many families.

The accessories and add-ons will cost a bomb. If you want to, it CAN COST a house. doh.gif
*
yeah icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(goldfries @ Feb 29 2008, 02:00 AM)
how much is a bomb ah?

actually camera look expensive only but actually cheaper than handphones, PDA, PPC, notebooks, computers, cars, blablabbalabl.

strange thing is that while people spend so much on pets, sports, home theatre and all stuff but camera......"aiyah why you spend so much ah?"
*
yea , i remembered before i jumped into photography i was spending alot on computers laugh.gif
to me is quite fine now on my investment on a camera

QUOTE(R a D ! c 4 L @ Feb 29 2008, 02:41 AM)
because maybe to them its "just a camera"

get it? smile.gif
*
yeah i do heard from some people laugh.gif

" aiya its just a camera, Why spend so much? better buy sumthin else ma"

For me its just weird that some people buy a EOS DSLR 18-55 kit then don't invest anymore. One of my neighbours is a doctor. He just uses it to take pics of his flowers and plants. No macro or any other lenses.

Also, there is always the occasion which happened to me when a lady walked up to me asking me about my 70-200. She asked if her kit lens can take pics like my lens.... I was speechless at first. But had to tell her that she had to invest on other lenses especially for the event which we were in.... Japan GT.

Maybe they don't really appreciate photography or are not knowledgeable enuf. Thinking having a DSLR (Pro Cam) is good enuf for taking pictures in any situation.

@Goldfries

I would put that figure at less than RM10k.... tongue.gif
*
lol we have this alot in other schools laugh.gif laugh.gif i seen some with a DSLR with the kit lens then dont invest anymore liao [ mostly use to take photo for a blog] laugh.gif , i seen some bloggers around my age few wishlist > a DSLR laugh.gif maybe also is good enuf for taking pictures in any situation.
their current camera is a compact laugh.gif seen some of photo's massixe Photoshop , most of it blur sweat.gif sweat.gif shocking.gif

*

I'll be joining you guys soon, paid deposit for a used set of 350D. That's not mine actually but it is for my sister and her husband, but I still can play with it sometimes. blush.gif Can't wait to Sunday because I will cod with the seller that day. rclxm9.gif

The package I bought includes of Canon EOS 350D together with its accessories, Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kitlens and Canon 50mm F1.8, 2GB CF and blower. All this for RM 1765. smile.gif

Canon EOS 350D+Accessories+ Kitlens+ 2GB CF = RM 1500
Canon 50mm F1.8 (3 months old) = RM 250
Blower (New) = RM 15
Total = RM 1765

The camera and the accessories are out of warranty but very good condition as viewed from the pictures shown by the seller. Is the total amount worth for all them? I hope yes. biggrin.gif

I am a super noob beginner for DSLR, know nothing about DSLR, I hope I have more chance to explore the DSLR. biggrin.gif

cool. i might be getting this.
but i think flash photography is hard.
i love natural lighting, but sometimes where natural lighting cannot be taken like a on a dark alley or some where dark. flash is really needed.
*
not necessary sometimes we use it as fill in flash to fill up those shadows brows.gif
