If you're talking about quality/built quality, its a so so lens only. Meant for budget users. If u save up more and you're on budget, just get the 55-250 instead. It has IS on it which helps alot. Or, u can save a little more, get the 70-200 f4 L. Comes with IS

I really don recommend u having the 50-200. My bro have 1, im not very pleased with it. And im not the kind that's picky about lens, but the 50-200mm really doesnt appeal to me. The USM does though.

sheren : I think viking was mistaken. I don't have the 55-200, I have the 55-250 IS (Non-USM) and it, I think is better than the 55-200 which you want to get 2nd hand. This lens, 1st hand can be gotten for RM800, not much more expensive than the price you're paying for the 55-200.

This is a good cheap lens, but not very usable  under lowlight. But IIRC you have a flash, so that should not pose as a problem to you.

I don't think I will be able to make the butterfly park outing. :-(

that is a real good price and local warranty as well. As Good as new eh..

I think vincent has this lens. (I think only ah..). based on the aperture, same like the canon, hence should not be _that_ usable under low light. BUt you got flash what.. should be OK I guess.

you might want to try the 55-250 IS... i tried it and is quite impressed with the lens. for less than RM 800 you should try it out.

for tele..can get around rm500. and another 500 can spend for 3rd party flash or batt grip. 

Get lens first, it's not that heavy to make you desperate for grip

you want a cheap  flash but almost the same guide number with 430ex and supports ETTL-II, i'd recommend the sunpak flash. only 600+

ask sherren. she's own one.

erk..sorry. i just think sumbody else. . btw..if budget constraint..may consider nissin. otherwise..save up..and grab 580ex
