D gray man is a typical shounen action series so actually there are many similar series out there. Pick up any shounen series will do.But I recommend Fullmetal Alchemist, Claymore and Soul Eater. The latter two have decent anime original endings though, especially Soul Eater.

Higashi no Eden and Chaos Head. But I don't think these two can surpass those you mentioned.
