Hi chua, how's your component? Is it the leg bengkok already? The unit were shipped to me with this packaging, then It was in good condition so I ship out like that with bubble wrap wrapping the whole thing. so sorry!

I think best person to answer might be stormspider cos last time he quite frequent to yuheng's house last time, dunno currently la! He can bring over ZERO with OPA earth to do head to head review with BOA testing the analog output cos ZERO's head out is no fight to BOA's  blush.gif
*
You mean no fight as headphone amp? I want to use it as dac.
If boa is better then no point to change to zero dac.

Depends on what u want. Have u check boa can do like what ZERO do or not.

For usb connection, just grab 1 converter will do, and ZERO become full function dac.

The question here is which DAC offers you the BEST value for money. do check out, and let us know.
*
erm...i want a better DAC to pair with my Heed amp.
currently using boa but i'm interested to know how zero dac sounds.
i wanna know whether it is worth for me to change to zero dac.

boa is great for dac and it is portable not to mention it use the same dac chips as pico dac
but since u pairing with heedcanamp i believe it need  more sufficient power and lower floor signal
anyhow best to test which is suitable for u afterall hearing is believing
*
yeah, i also wanna audition it.
but how to try dac at jaben?
it's the best if i can borrow it for one day. thumbup.gif

wait, i need another rca to rca interconnect cable for zero dac to heed. doh.gif

nope one of his cd players i dun know which 1 btw  sweat.gif
jus bring yur boa and some cds as well and compare
zero is preamp so it is better u bring yur canamp if u wan to test which has a better cleaner sound and less floor signal
test by using various cans that uncle has
akg, sen, grados and sen

blink.gif
i thought cd players have built-in dac?

just got my zero DAC+ from Jaben.
it comes with OP627AU and NE5532P.
user posted image

it's significantly better than Ibasso D2 Boa. nod.gif

the stock optical cable looks flimsy, the connecting points are very loose.
no problem transmitting the data though.

already burned in for 50 hours.
wondering how long more to go to get it done? hmm.gif

Wow, significant better than Ibasso D2 Boa ... in terms of what? transparency, details, vocal, care to elaborate more ? Bro, I suggest you to go for the audio_gd's discrete opamp, I love the EARTH well, slightly laidback yet detail ...
*
the zero dac brings out more details and a bit wider soundstage.
not gonna mod anything soon, wanna enjoy current setup. smile.gif

Older version of EARTH doesnt comes with the white cap, I forgot what the usage already biggrin.gif

How does the EARTH in ZERO performs compare to your ZERO+?
*
cap?
so the newer version with cap should be better than old one? sad.gif
i'll compare them later.

i like how the earth sounds.
the first thing i noticed is the bell sound, it's more natural than opa627.
and also the vocal sounds sweeter to me.

Welcome to OPA testing. U are much lucky than me or Abel in the sense u are rolling HDAM whereas we are rolling opamp like 627, 1057, etc.

I have those evox cap. U can use it and solder it onto the OPA Earth.

This does not apply to OPA Sun loh.

Hi steve,

are u coming over for a review of the DAC 100. RAV is interested and I guess many others.
*
how much is the evox cap?

you mean the cap theory doesn't apply to Sun?
then why the latest sun also got these caps?

this is my zero dac, i cant find any green wire. sweat.gif

I mean Sun old version (Without cap) is different than the Sun V2. Sun V2 modified the cap, resistor and additional Evox cap.

The cap is free of charge. just how to send to you only.

Yours is a black wire connected to the casing. Remove that and plug to the screw tap.
*
i cant hear any difference from earth with caps and without caps. hmm.gif
can i get the caps foc from local evox caps distro? sweat.gif

thanks for the help.
i'm going to ground the hdam soon. smile.gif

Most people like to snip, but me dont like it. u can try it, and it would be fun. before try it, do u feel your system is bright or not.
*
it's ok to me.
i'll try to desolder it when i got solder iron.
solder back if it's too bright to my ears.

dang, the ground wire from the power plug is too short.
so i connect the earth ground wire like this.
should be ok rite?

that is very dangerous act. The power connector pin is not insulated. If forget to off supply can get electrical shock.
*
lol
i have unplugged everything before doing anything on the wires. smile.gif
