The Poslaju guys in the area is seriously lazy. This is the 2nd time they put in a note "fail to deliver" when there is always someone at home.

Only can collect later at the evening. Idiots.

I heard the burn in stage is quite funny. tongue.gif The soundstage will expand and contract before settling at 250 hours.

Be extra careful when using the extension leads. If you bend it too much near the solder ends, it might come off!

Just collected it from Poslaju.

Earth is in 1st. Initial impression is that the separation of instruments is much better compared to OPA627. Using Grados, the mids is more prominent while the music works around behind it. Sibilance in some songs are still noticeable. I think a tube headphone amp would complete the setup. As of now, the Earth makes the OPA627 sound like if someone turned on the "loudness" button. smile.gif

Some comparison quoted from Head-fi

QUOTE
I have a question. Has anybody compared this DAC in this thread or another thread vs any of the other more expensive DACs like the Zhaolu, DAC-1, or Lavry DA10, Headroom Micro Dac or even the DAC and headphone out of a quality CD/DVD/SACD player like the Nad T585?

I'd put the stock zero to be close to the Musiland MD10, which is twice the price of the zero. stock 2.5C is a tad
bit better but the Keces is more musical.

With the DAC HDAM, it is better than all three above, The OMZ 4.1 is still slightly better - more "flesh and bones" than the modded Zero. But it's 90% the level of the OMZ for one-third the price.

After the the OMZ and the modded Zero, I can't listen to the stock unit anymore. Nor the MD10 and stock 2.5c for that matter. And yes, I have used all those DACs so my comments are valid.

Thanks for the prompt reply. How does the Zero compared to the rest of them?

Anyone here tried snipping off the caps on the headphone board? I'm afraid the Grado will sound too bright after.

I have Earth in DAC, LT1364 in amp.

I've yet to put on the Sun, love the Earth. Maybe it is placebo but there is a slight hint of more detail after snipping the caps.

Do I need to solder the earth wire to the RCA ground? I don't plan to change the RCA jacks now. Maybe just make a knot?

________

The snipping of the caps bring better transparency, lifts a veil that I didn't know was present!

It won't do surround sound, only stereo.

Snipping the caps with Earth is still less fatiguing compared to OPA627 with no snip. If you feel the need for additional transparency, go for it. If not, don't bother smile.gif

I reckon the Moon is the total opposite of the OPA627. The Earth is a compromise between the two.
