I guess yours will be super revealing. Haha tongue.gif You'll have a tough time looking for music which will sound perfect tongue.gif
*
LOL if plug in LT1469 maybe would be more revealing than OPA627 cool2.gif

QUOTE(ccschua @ Apr 7 2008, 06:21 PM)
Well they are Ibasso, Yulong, Zhaolu (new version) and other DAC to compare with but it boils down to costs and the flexibility of rolling. With other DAC, any mistake in the swapping and soldering will fry the chip.  Zero is just plug and play and good play ground before one matures.

how I do the burn in, feed the ZERO with thousands of mp3 with the headphone connected .. is there other way?
*
I guess just keep playing music would be enough ... preferable those music with high dynamic smile.gif

Got mine yesterday at last. Sorry for the waiting again steve.

A question, sometimes when I change song, the first few seconds of the song like went crazy, like crackling sound, after that the song is fine.

Emm ... did you changed the opamp? May I know what type of song you were playing when switching songs? Let it play for few days first, see the thing still there or not smile.gif

i faced this problem too.. i assumed that transferring signal from pc to dac isn't smooth or fast. i don know how tosay in the right way, but only agak agak say one..
cause when you open the DAC case, u can see the optical light. once it transferring the signal from pc(when i press Play in window media player), it light up(red light at the optical part there).. when it light up, the few sec(mostly half to 1 second) something like warming up(crack sound or weird sound or scary sound) then it start singing after that.

hmmm correct me if i'm wrong.

Yeap, should be the transfer speed problem I guess as when I can't make the windows error sound out anymore if there's no other audio source.

Luckily it only happens once in a while biggrin.gif

I guess should be the problem of USB converter, USB tend to in jam mode while computer in heavy usage, I think the less smooth operating contribute to the sudden spike while switching song:(

those who are using PCs... check ur motherboard specs.. see if it has any SPDIF header or not. especially at the I/O ports at the back...if got...use that instead....

if dont have...check ur mobo manual. look for SPDIF pins on the motherboard itself. if got then use the SPDIF PCI bracket like the one i used....u can probably get this at sri computers or something...heck...check ur mobo package.. might even have it.

this is what i used before i used the Maya44. works like a charm... no issues whatsoever and even had more volume than my Maya44. also easier to setup.

While I still prefer to have OPA627 in the DAC, I find the cello and bass guitars is missing. The sound of bass strumming seems rather weak. Perhaps I have tubeamp thats why I want to try the tube like LT1364, knowing that it will fry my fingers.

I would still love the rich vocals and the guitar/cello bass

naah...me think me have to skip the offer for LT opamps this time around...

gotta concentrate all my fund to my car now which i just sent to the workshop for a makeover brows.gif

anyway...ive tried pairing my ZERO (DAC-OPA627) + Battery Cute II (OPA2107) and i like how it sounds... better me thinks than the ZERO's own amp.

but having problems with my battery amp now... after about 20 minutes the sounds just fades away and turns into distortion sad.gif

need to figure that one out... once thats done im gonna try the 627 in the battery amp.
