The best person to answer would probably be Madmen. but ZERO dac with OPA Earth will rock you.

Depends on what u want. Have u check boa can do like what ZERO do or not.

For usb connection, just grab 1 converter will do, and ZERO become full function dac.

The question here is which DAC offers you the BEST value for money. do check out, and let us know.

That's the most important review I have seen. u have done a great job, no wonder you are spending when in lowyat forum.

I wonder if any felllow zero users with OPA earth would like to stand forward and give yr testimony.

I have Evox but it is 100uF. Anyway u can try the Abel PIO cap that would be good.

Today did some upgrade for the ZERO DAC.

First thing I do, remove the original Gucci RCA and replace with the RCA (free gift from Mr He). Next put the connecting wire using Silver cable. This tiny silver cable is thinner than hair and so flimsy.

Next solder a wire to the RCA ground and connect OPA earth ground to this wire.

Put on the volume, connect the Volex 17604 (corrected to British polarity) and off the ZERO dac sings.

I was like 'shock' and awe and my jaw was wide open. The sound is more transparent with very good imaging. Worth my day.

When the OPA ground is not connected, I measured some running AC voltage of about 0.15V (floating voltage). Connecting it to ground force it to zero. I prefer to connect the OPA ground to the RCA ground (not to the chasis ground).

This RCA is free gift from audio-gd. The RCA feels real solid, which I found on those good quality amplifier RCA connector.

I had a bad experience with ZERO RCA. I once pulled out the RCA cable together with RCA ground plate. (the whole RCA external ground plate came off). So getting a full solid core solid RCA (u can try neutrik from farnell, which is quite cheap)

Silver cable from Octave-electronics, kind of expensive. RM 20 per 1/5 meter.

Remember, silver cable will give u more transparency, higher high, which I need for my system. Handling those thin silver cable is nightmare if u are not skillful.

OK. Please get me some OCC cable for signal cables.

I am thinking the ground cable also need some good cable. Power ground need thicker cable. Please let me know if u are buying.

Looks like the Sifu has spoken. Dont play play with eddylws. he is the Blackgate blackbelt and master of all TDA 154X cdp.

Frankly the RCA given by Audio-gd is top class. Just a simple upgrade on RCA and pure 99.99 % silver cable is enuf to I am surprised by the sound. It gives me the soundstage that I like and more transparent.

I like the look of switchcraft, but I am kind of reserve on its build quality. It doesnt look solid to me. Though neutrik look solid, but I am not sure if the sound will impress.

At this moment, I just sit back and relax on the tweak to the ZERO. Never underestimate this little DAC can offer in sound quality.

For RM 500, no unit can beat this.

We are talking about ZERO and the costs performance ratio it can provide. We are happy about it and it is not our interests to show other unit more superior.

Try TDA 1543 or TDA 1541. They are cheap. DAC1 now on sale for RM 100. Who want.

ZERO also dont have IV stage. but for the price of it, plus headphone and optical/coaxial and the implementation, it is best bang for bucks.

I mean this one RM 100.
