my macbook is the 1st generation ones and it comes with tiger |

Cool Cool.. Go to the Apple logo and check ur Mac information on 'About This Mac'. Perhaps u aren't on Tiger, but on the earlier versions? |

Click on the Apple logo on the top left corner of your screen. Then click on "About this Mac". You can find the version there.
