straight away remove the IHS already
but... dunno they solder the IHS to core or just put some thermal paste material there for this F3 proc.
p/s: rumours say with proper mod , you can increase the L2 cache from 2 x 512kB to 2 x 1MB
Dunno la..would like to remove my IHS but my cooler will crack the core for sure (XP-120)but... dunno they solder the IHS to core or just put some thermal paste material there for this F3 proc.

Anyway, there is a slight possibility you could unlock the remaining cache IF its not faulty. Usually the good clocking lower end chips are high end chips which certain faults which can be worked around by turning them off. Back in 462 days, you could mod the chip in all sorts of ways, change the stock multiplier, unlock higher multipliers, unlock multiprocessing, PowerNow!, cache blocks, stock voltage...ect..

Well, its probably impossible to unlock multipliers, even in AthlonXP days multipliers could already be superlocked (unlockable even with extreme hard modding).
