Accept semprons or not? Processor: Sempron LE-1100 @2.85Ghz Nick: joe_star Mobo Model: Abit NF-M2S RAM: Kingston DDR2 667 Value ram RAM Speed: 712Mhz Timings: 4-4-4-12-17 2T Cooler Model: AMD stock cooler Maximum I can OC as the board only supports max fsb of 300. Easiest OC i've done. Just set the ram divider to 533 and boosted mem voltage to 1.9v. Proc is at stock volts. I think it still has potential to go higher

Bro -pws-, hope can add my sempron in there.....info on previous page Btw is there any way to go above fsb 300 on abit m2s? A new bios maybe? Added on February 5, 2008, 8:02 amQUOTE(digswell @ Feb 5 2008, 01:49 AM) With 3025mhz can eazly load into windows But fail with ORTHOS test Bro try using prime95 multithreaded instead. I had a similar prob with my X2 3600+ @ 3.0ghz where orthos will always fail after 2 mins but I stressed with prime95 and its 12 hours stable. Also did 3dmark06 6 hours and have been using the overclock since and havent had any issues. Just my 2 cents This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 5 2008, 08:04 AM

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Feb 5 2008, 08:49 AM) @ joestar isn't it prime just utilize one core if u run one instance only? orthos utilizes 2 cores, older version - SP GO is d same like prime. actually both are d same, just that sp go / orthos comes with better ui. pls correct me if i'm wrong... Nope, now theres a multithreaded version of prime95 itself. I know........thats what I thought as well, but my system seems to disagree. ALways fail orthos after 2 mins but goes steady in prime for 12 hours+. Maybe a flaw in the program @xixo WOW!! Wonder if my sempron can go there or not This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 6 2008, 10:15 AM

@awh85
Increase your NB voltage a lil. I had the same prob with an x2 3600+ and a T560 A2+. Initially it wouldnt go above 2.4ghz but after increasing the NB voltage by 1 increment, it went up to 2.7ghz without needing to add cpu vcore.

@bro awh85 I think our procs are quite similar coz I also have a G1 3600+. Looking at your 3.0ghz oc and the fact that u say ur comp reboots in superpi32M, I say you need to pump vcore more. I had to up mine to 1.55V to get it 12 hours prime stable. After vdroop on load the voltage was arnd 1.52V. For superpi 32M i tink 1.53V wud be enuff for 3Ghz. Good luck bro. Anyway, heres my screenie This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 11 2008, 03:34 AM

QUOTE(awh85 @ Feb 11 2008, 03:43 AM) hey thanks a lot man, ill try it out now, just now was thinking of settling for 300x9.5=2850. will post results later, tomorrow maybe. thanks Yeah man I also eventually settled for 2.9ghz @ 1.45V. Just 100mhz extra needs extra 0.1v to be stable, not worth it la Anyways my max oc with clear results, plz add me bro -pws- and my sempron on page 55 oso Processor: AMD Athlon X2 3600+ Brisbane G1 @3012Mhz Nick: joe_star Mobo Model: Biostar TF560 A2+ RAM: 2x1GB Team DDR2 667 Value ram RAM Speed: 602Mhz Timings: 4-4-4-12-16 1T Cooler Model: Tuniq Tower

QUOTE(jedi_dc @ Feb 13 2008, 06:14 PM) highest i can oc now is 2.3 ghz... from 2.1.... im just playing around with busspeed... any higher and it will just show as 2.1ghz .... im guessing its PSU problem?? Abit M2S isnt really oc-ing frenly bro. No DDR400 divider setting, no multiplier setting, heck! even no core voltage setting. But despite all that i managed to oc my sempron to 2.85Ghz at FSB300. Thats the max the board supports. Am using an ayam brand psu as well but of curse the sempron is very low on power consumption

Hmm........wanna consult the sifu's here or any1 with experience. I'm using biostar's T560 A2+ with brisby 3600+. Today i decided to try n find my max fsb. Most ppl say they got 350 for this board. To my suprise....i only managed to get 300 . The comp just wudnt boot. Its not the proc or memory holding me back as I have lowered the multiplier to 5X, set HTT to 3X, loosened all the ram timings and set the mem to ddr400, and i also pumped the chipsetvoltage to 1.3v. Ok......so then i tried using my usual OC setting of 2.9ghz with the fsb at 320, and it worked! So i tried again, this time I left the cpu voltage at oc levels and tried. It worked!! But I had to keep increasing cpu voltage as i increased the fsb speed even though my cpu was running at low speeds Finally i reached a max fsb of 340. Anyone know if its just generally like this or smths wrong with my system? For me its damn weird as I dont understand why the cpu voltage has also got to be increased when the speed is so low This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 15 2008, 11:43 AM

Someone recommended earlier to update bios, which I have done earlier and I'm using 0803 bios atm. Although there is a newer 1 by biostar but the only change i think is to support phenom procs. Any other ideas?

Fear not the power of 1.5V bro awh85 Unless your using the stock cooler Sifu's, managed to reach DDR2 970 with my team value ram, but havent tested for stability. Tried for DDR2 1000mhz but instantly bsod. Never really overclocked my ram before so was quite pleased about getting this high . Any advice on getting it stable? My timings are ald in the screenie, and I'm using 2.3v. Cooling is an issue I guess. Comments plz This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 16 2008, 05:00 PM

Ok........then fear u shall, til you get a new cooler. What are your load temps now? Should be reaching 60 I tink. I'm using tuniq tower atm. With 1.55v @ 3.0ghz the load temp is 50C. But duno can trust the onboard DTS or not. Either way proc is still running so far so ok la . Hmm lastime i was considering getting Evercool Buffalo as it was only arnd RM70 n apparently did a decent job. Thats good temps bro. Hmm about memory oc-ing, as of now I havent really notcied that much performance improvement except in benchmarks, but I think it will be beneficial in memory intensive apps.

Bro.........u never reduce ur HTT multiplier ar?? HT link speed should be arnd 1000mhz, saw urs is at 1500mhz Apart from that, I would suggest boosting memory voltage just a lil, it might provide some extra stability. If still doesnt work, then you gotta go for 1.5v ady. Try running small fft in orthos to see if its your proc or ram causing the prob. Btw I had vy similar symptoms to yours in superpi 32m, my solution, pump voltage This post has been edited by joe_star: Feb 16 2008, 10:26 PM

Lol........all procs arent born the same, and anyway consider yourself as ald having a better proc than mine. 2850mhz also it needs 1.4V. The HTT multiplier is definitely in there. It has lower values, from 1X to 5X. Maybe its named smth else in your mobo's bios. Lol.....you havent done anything WRONG yet. WRONG would be pushing it beyond 1.5V wth the stock cooler

Wanna see if i can hit 1200Mhz on 2.1/2.2... Really regreted taking only 2 during those times, should have bought more of them. How often do you find value rams which can go this far... Wow May i know what voltage u use. Either way mine seems to die at arnd 900mhz
