its an audiophile level card...stereio output only...supposed to be good for beginner recording etc etc.
but truth be told i have no idea of the special features of this card... i only bought it because it has BOTH optical and coaxial SPDIF outputs. which is what i need. only using it as a transport to my external DAC. |

QUOTE(blessedvillain @ Feb 11 2008, 08:55 PM) @mADmAN... bleh...my chinese married friends are god knows where already....those that i know stay friggin far and im too lazy to make the trip try visiting your married chinese friends or collegues... sure can get ang pao... new year's not over man...still got time... by the way, how do you know your old sata1 hdd is dying? mine also starting to sound weird... mmm... i'm starting to worry about my collection of "goodies" .. as for HDD dying... well its been real slow for a very long time..sometimes a folder all of a sudden cant read etc etc....tried using it as OS drive and tried using it as data drive only.... same difference. so decided to change it. but i think ill be picking up another 320GB to replace the 80gb in my sig which i think is also dying once i have that other 320gb...gonna have a go at RAID0 and see if its worth the money |

QUOTE(LittleLinnet @ Feb 12 2008, 03:04 PM) and you guys start comparing HDD with the temperatures /?? quoted and bolded for truth...a slight 2-3 colder doesn't mean that it is necessary better main reason i buy seagate is for the 5 year warranty as opposed to WD's 3 year warranty. also currently looking for the 7200.11 320gb Seagate HDD...so far i see talks of 500gb only. (the one posted before is the 7200.10). the 7200.11 is supposed to be fast...hence why im looking for it EDIT: crap... saw the webbie and 7200.11 only got 500gb n above This post has been edited by mADmAN: Feb 12 2008, 03:26 PM |

QUOTE(Ezonizs @ Feb 13 2008, 05:27 PM) well....heres a good reason why.... from pczone pricelist i downloaded from hardwarezone.com.my1TB WD10000KS 3GBps SATAII 16MB - RM990/pc * space u get.. 1TB..performance... like normal SATA II HDD la... 500GB WD5000KS 3GBps SATAII - RM375/pc (buy 2 pieces) * space u get 1TB...setup RAID0 and performance almost equals a Raptor. total spent RM750 total saved RM240. if u buy the new Seagate 7200.11 500GB it costs RM445 (x2=890) and still save RM100. the 7200.11 alone already supposed to be very fast. imagine if 2 of those in RAID0 sadly my 320gb are 7200.10. the 7200.11 doesnt come with 320gb. i dun need any bigger and i dun wanna spend the money for any bigger...the 2 HDDs i bought are to replace dying HDDs in seperate rigs. just wanna try RAID0 while i still have 2 new HDDs. |

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Feb 13 2008, 06:34 PM) Honestly I been thinking of getting another Seagate 500GB 7200.11 32MB Cache NCQ for RAID-0, but well... I doesn't need that huge amount of space yet. Currently I'm suffering crash problem with my system. I wonder it is my OS corrupted or the HDD is faulty itself. Praying hard it isn't the HDD, else I'll need to sacrifice some time and money to make a trip to LYP for exchange or RMA purpose most likely IDE mode... BIOS on stock settings.BTW, your current 320GB running on SATA IDE or AHCI mode? You still got floppy disk drive with you to install the SATA driver? My FDD kaputed long ago and I didn't bother to replace till now I'm looking for one to install driver only BTW, that cheaper WD 500GB GreenPower is actually a low performance HDD. Not much deal if used for storage, but system will be otherwise yeah i have a floppy drive and disk ....so can make the raid driver disk the greenpower thingy...dun care ler...my main point is that 2 smaller HDDs (even if its the 7200.11) is still cheaper than 1 bigger HDD for the same size... and can get better performance |

dude...he just said alot higher... he didnt say anything about 1xx power efficiency aka no figured mentioned...
n 1 of the reasons he believed empire23 is coz empire23 is a geek for electronics and has the hardware needed to test the stuff.... that dude speaks a whole different language when it comes to this electronics thingy |
