madnoren - cool u got rdisplay and engineer, i read in racesimcentral that if ur lcd support pip u can display rdisplay anywhere on the same screen (but i dun see the point), i think the engineer tools are more handy
[madnor, i just bought my flight ticket today so confirm going to malaysiangp come march]

marra, u talkin bout the freetrack?

TQ for da compliments - what can i say am a diy junkie lol
i try to practice more instead of busy imagining how to do this and that too much - after i finish this project

this is the webcam i used with freetrack - no mod necessary - mobile gear i-view ip300
the manual adjustment (camera control) is important to make it works with freetrack, adjust gamma, brightness and contrast
freetrack also got some adjustment

some webcams may not have this, even webcams that looks exactly the same but different firmware may also not have the manual control
other webcams may work better - so u may want to pinjam friends webcam etc to try.

sori bros tak join test race - aku tak sempat practice - so malas nak join, lg pun tgh spend some time on project momo FF

finally managed to fix the main parts together, it runs ok with FF off but with FF on - quick steering corrections were disaster, gearing miss and wheel will not center well
FF wheel nih mmg bising - sakit gigi - need gettin used to

btw im lost on the FF setting
effect strength - ?
spring effects - ?
damper effects - ?
centering spring - ?
what values u guys use
how about in game? rfactor

so far with FF i can only feel resistance - meaning steering harder to turn, dun feel any variations, no rumble strips effects???

edit: TQ in advance

thx for the tips - FF is working now, first time driving w FF wheel (albeit not really complete yet - had to use auto coz wheel paddles and buttons not wired up yet)
things left to do
1. centering sensor - not really sure how this works
2. buttons and paddle shifters wiring

need to do some testing - w FF the pinions sometimes mesed up when i do quick steering n wheel centering gone.
FF is too much set at 100%

Awesome handywork there...
Can see how centering works when u dissambled the momo?

Added on February 18, 2008, 12:17 am

im not so sure maybe the sensor is only required if u enable the centering spring option?? it is an optical sensor facing the black shaft, and there is a silver strip - the sensor face the silver strip when the wheel is physically center
since i read we have a dedicated thread on gaming wheel i'll bring the discussion there - im a noobie with FF wheel lol

correction actually them quick laptimes ive seen are 1.27's, but we will see quicker time during qualify i bet.
being quick is one thing, consistency is another, first thing always to finish the race

hello people, i'm back in kuching, so race is on this week

will be racing with new rig maybe
cannot tahan anymore, bought some cheap upgrades while i was in KL - E2220 (defected to the dark side lol), ABIT IP35E, 2G Mushkin valueram, and 9600GT - so finally no more agp
hopefully can put everything together asap, have a good HD format and i hope no more in game pause issue in rfactor im still having today.

i guess i broke my promise no upgrade till rfactor 2 comes out - have not tried mmg yet, but bet my current rig might struggle
