dont count TRU,Jusco and Metrojaya...
though u can find toys in those outlets but at least, ppl got other choice other than XL...

Bro Neosan, Amcorp Mall yang paling strategik lah , lemme provide some reasons:
1) Easily accessible by Federal highway or even LRT
2) Lots of parking spaces, no headache like MV and SS2 area
3) There are already 2 toy shops there, one that opens once in a blue moon, other one goreng their "rare" items to hell, YOU can change that.
4) Toy collectors are bound to visit Amcorp since there are so many toy shops there, there is a market for toys in amcorp.
5) Heck even gatherings are held near amcorp
6) Toywiz was a huge success at Amcorp, you can do it too.
7) Cheaper rent!!!

There's no such thing as loyal customers for toy shops la, all the shops are selling the same el-cheapo, bad QC plastic toys, there's no product differentiation whatsoever... For toys, the most important things are price and availability...
But can UITM students afford to buy so much TFs or not?
Yes, it will be like LYP, lots of toy shops at one place, good for consumers, and healthy competition...
1U's rent is too darn high...

Guys maybe Neos needs some suggestion on what the consumers want (us) , gatherings, pre orders, free drinks? Important for him to make things easier.

Perhaps u can put up photos of known scalpers at ur shop, so that collectors can recognize them... And if those scalpers come to your shop to buy anything, u refuse to do business with them...

the best thing is to cater what XL,GT and TM does..
not only completed models but also pla-models...
prolly hobby supplies as well but it all depends on location as well..
if the place u wanna open got no shops that sells hobby supplies, u can add in to your business as well...
some of us like building model kits...
dont go all at once lar, u can start with only completed models and pla-models...
once the demand for hobby supplies is there, u can slowly add in...

No problemo bro. we all support u. i have another idea. how about if u create a website/blog for your toyshop? so that your customer can easily get new information regarding your stocks, new arrival toys and so much more. u can also give information such as what's new and what's coming up later in your toy shop. just a suggestion though.

If he opens the shop at amcorp, selling Gundam would be a very wise thing to do since no other shop is doing so. Hobby supplies is a great idea too, maybe can do kitbashes at his toy "cafe", great place for collectors to hang out and share experiences.

Then u tunggu chap lap loh...

2 most important thing in opening a shop.
1. location, location, location.(u've heard this movies, reality tv shows)
2. suppliers.

once u got em lined-up, then only capital comes into place..
u may wanna have a meeting with bank reps to know more about entrepreneurs program these banks may have that can help u to start a business..

From my point of view. If u have a toyzshop that NOT only selling toyz, but also a place that can make more friends. It will be a very nice place to be... A perfect place for "our" collectors to have a simple gathering... Ofcoz service is important too...

though blood is thicker than water but u cant do shiat bout thick skin..
family is family, business is business....
never mix em together though its a family business...

From what I observe so far when buying TF, these are usually the things that ppl use to goreng:-

1) Must buy in set

So hasbro ship things in mixed cases and so the only way to get rid of them is to sell in sets. Fine, but do atleast give come discout abit and not charge 100% rrp or more for it. Or show that you have atleast TRIED to order from Hasbro in solid cases. I think it is possible to order in solid cases since someone posted a picture of a solid case of Takara Ironhides recently.

2) Must buy this in order to buy this.

This is worse than no.1 . Already you have to pay premium for an item, but now you are force to buy something else to buy the stuff you want? and lagi that extra item is goreng. OUch! Worse offenders.... well ... i think everyone knows.

3) Put a ridiculously high price for an item.

I can name a few which does this. some of the shops in BTS sells deluxes for prices you can get a takara leader! The wonderful thing about it is that the stocks are still there.  Hey, there is a limit on how much you can goreng. I remember a picture of a shop in 1U that has so much voyager primes it is as if they are waiting for a shortage that never came. Also we know the Recommended Retail Prices of most of the items sold. Sure a fool is always parted with his money, but then it is better to sell of the stock quick right?

4) Scapling

Golden rule: NEVER Scalp. If info leaks out that your shop is scalping chances are you will be out of business really quick. 

Not that I want you to practice them, just to tell you the frustrating part of buying TFs Hope you can relieve us of such misery.

You really understand??? Not only this... the year i been cheated was also the year that im getting married.. I really cant make it!! I even beg the guy to return some of my saving... but..... at last, i need my father to PAY for my wedding... u see how failure am i!! just extra cafeful if u plan to open a toy shop with some partner.
