Actually I think what your friend is trying to say is that you should look presentable for the occasion. And no, it won't insult the organizer if you show up bare-faced. But given to any events, I think it would be more nicer to appear more colour-ed up. So just blusher up a bit, charcoal up your eyes and swipe a few daps of lip gloss. That ought to do the trick
