QUOTE(nles @ Mar 28 2008, 02:00 AM) stain DIE then Nah, im outstation studying in Bath, United Kingdom. I havent touched any other game apart from playing some DotA on lan with my room-mates, there's nothing else to do and no other game to play. I am very very sure that if ESWC Malaysia organisers do not provide strong documents for our fellow Malaysian DotA team it would be almost impossible to have the chance to represent the country in the event. It would also be very dissappointing, thats because if i'm not wrong Kingsurf is not far away from the elite teams around the world. And they look under good circumstances to take this title. I dont know them but I wish them the best of luck. As for Counterstrike, As a member of Team Hybrid I am feeling very very confident that we can clinch another national title and represent Malaysia one more time. If we do eventually win the event, we wont have any visa problems as 4/6 members in the current active roster have a 10 year visa with multiple entries. Would like to see Malaysia do well at this years ESWC Kudos to all. PS : If im not wrong most likely endless will be the head marshall again yea? Good luck to you mate, you've always been a great marshall and probably one of the best in Malaysia if not the best. Will be tight between you and Douglas. |

I am glad to see many people replying to this thread related to my earlier reply.
As far as I can see I can only say that I am confident that my team can pick up another National title this is because the team at this point probably cant get anything close to matching what the international scene has. In terms of skill, yes I do believe we have it, After the last 2 international appearances I noticed that the many teams that people look up to do not have godly aim and that our aim certainly matches theirs. But one thing I do notice is :- 1) The players overseas are real professionals where they have a place to train and talk out strategies. 2) They spend more time on the game compared to us, they are able to do this cause they are professionals and we have priorities to look at namely studies, family .. etc. 3) They are being paid and are getting strong backing for doing what they are doing. Another thing I would like to address is that the many upcoming games such as DotA is killing the Counterstrike scene. This is because many players such as former Counterstrike star XeqtR has taken up DotA and I think that probably Counterstrike is getting too old. As far for upcoming talents. I believe we have that. One good example is probably Team XsM who some of the members were on the same team as me at the Piala E-Sukan which was for the gamers that didnt represent theyre country at the 6 nations. At that point I wasnt on the active roster for Team Hybrid. With that in mind, I am surprised to see how fast we have progressed, look what standing XsM finished at the World Cyber Games 2007, they even managed to topple FMJ who were champions for many years in a row till 2006. I think the main problem here is that we aren't professional and we cant be compared with the international scene. The only thing can be done is to do our very best and may the team representing our country this year do so and hope for the best for Malaysia. Peace out |
