QUOTE(NecrosavaNt @ Mar 28 2008, 11:14 PM) still havent announced the dates ah.. Haha, we like to keep things mysterious xD. Make sure you train don't let others get you unprepared. Stain: I'm aware of the VISA problem and I never forgotten abit about it. We are using a different approach to apply for the VISA, furthermore not only 1 solution. Already prepared a few solution to handle this case. As for counter-strike, confident bout clinching another national title doesn't really justify us. The one you guys should be aiming is World ranking. Com'on don't let me end my marshall life with dissapoinment, bring us some results. This post has been edited by nles: Mar 29 2008, 07:32 PM

malaysian cs scene is deteriorating.. there arent any upcoming talents and the skill gap is too big and its going lower.. even amongst the top 3 teams.
no-one can touch hybrid. thats good for them, but if you look at it as a whole, its bad for our community..

more tourney doesn't help much I think, most important the teams need to constantly look for friendly match. At least once a week, 4 maps.
Which team does that? If you're not that good, you must take 3-4 times more effort to make yourself better. Don't think you're those experienced team that can just train 1 month before tournament.

you're right about that.
but usually these teams only will show up and train for tournaments. the tournaments are what keeps them playing. some wont train if there isnt any tournaments around, i mean to them why bother training if they're not gonna get to compete much.

Getting Started

|
I am glad to see many people replying to this thread related to my earlier reply.
As far as I can see I can only say that I am confident that my team can pick up another National title this is because the team at this point probably cant get anything close to matching what the international scene has.
In terms of skill, yes I do believe we have it, After the last 2 international appearances I noticed that the many teams that people look up to do not have godly aim and that our aim certainly matches theirs. But one thing I do notice is :-
1) The players overseas are real professionals where they have a place to train and talk out strategies. 2) They spend more time on the game compared to us, they are able to do this cause they are professionals and we have priorities to look at namely studies, family .. etc. 3) They are being paid and are getting strong backing for doing what they are doing.
Another thing I would like to address is that the many upcoming games such as DotA is killing the Counterstrike scene. This is because many players such as former Counterstrike star XeqtR has taken up DotA and I think that probably Counterstrike is getting too old.
As far for upcoming talents. I believe we have that. One good example is probably Team XsM who some of the members were on the same team as me at the Piala E-Sukan which was for the gamers that didnt represent theyre country at the 6 nations. At that point I wasnt on the active roster for Team Hybrid. With that in mind, I am surprised to see how fast we have progressed, look what standing XsM finished at the World Cyber Games 2007, they even managed to topple FMJ who were champions for many years in a row till 2006.
I think the main problem here is that we aren't professional and we cant be compared with the international scene. The only thing can be done is to do our very best and may the team representing our country this year do so and hope for the best for Malaysia.
Peace out

Most probably there's PES, but you're not going to San Jose definitely cause it's not the official title.
