My friend's SPL1200R encountered some problem with hissing sound coming from the woofer. Sent back for checking. Now he is using his B&W ASW650. So, I didnt got the chance to bring this B&w sub home for a test.
callmevil, you crank ur AVR to 0dB?! Siao! My ears cldnt take it at that deafening level. Even if I cld, my HM will issue stern warning for 'Domestic Noise Violation Act'

Even if my HM approves, I wldnt want to annoy my immediate neighbour Unless, I moved to a Semi-D pad (dreaming) and build a detached HT room (16'x26') on the available land. Then again, 0dB is still a burden to my ears. Now, at -27dB, it is freaking loud. Maybe, I need a bigger room to crank higher

Ni betul-betul MC ke? My previous Denon 2802 had once on 'reference' level. -3dB. But, only for a movie. A lot of ppl tell me that we need to crank up to reference level (some refers as 0dB). But, prolong exposure to such high level of sound pressure (reads : noise to some) will quickened the process of deafness.

My Pioneer 917 vol is between -94 db to -1db..........so what is the ref level??? Normally I use -40db only. Tq for the infor.

I might want to sell off my RX-V1800 to get Onkyo SR875 as someone offering 875 at very very attractive price. Wonder how much could 1800 fetch considering it is less than a month old.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Aug 13 2008, 10:49 PM) what's your whole setup? Care to share? sure... just ordered 5.1 Canton Chrono speaker set (507 + 505 + 505 + 525). Speakers arriving this weekend so i ordered the Onkyo 875 to pair with them. Actually bought the 875 without any audition, just based on several good reviews in whathifi forum. Source is PS3 for now and using existing Samsung CRT 29" TV Why stick with my TV? Because this is my temporary setup as i'm living in my rental apartment while my actual apartment is ready in Dec so.... just enjoy sound quality 1st. really looking forward to my new toyz.. hope they don't disappoint
