 Compassionate Leave, Need Help

Want to ask that if My husband's grandmother passed away, am I entitled for the compassionate leave???

Kindly advice.

Yes. Immediate family (If you are married, yours and your husband's immediate family also counts. Grandparents, parents and siblings). Most company is the same. Check your Employment Contract, it should be written there.

too bad that our company is not the same.....only parents in laws that are entitled. hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

Is it (grandparents in-laws) listed written in the Employment Contract? If not, then you are not entitled for CL.

The Employment Contract is not with me now, just want to know what is actually written in the Malaysia Employment Act so that I can show our HR Dept.

do you have any link to the employment act?

Nope I don't have it with me, but if I am not mistaken, it's a benefit under the discretion of the Company. You might want to try to perform a search here, I think someone might have posted a link on it during the other employment discussion.

Only your HR/Boss can answer you that. Basically very few will allow compassionate on spouse's grandparents.

May have to discuss with boss to take leave, thats all.
