Hi All, i just bought a HP Compaq Presario C700 (C749TU). According to the HP support team, this model is designed for Win Vista. Therefore, the HP web site only provide Vista Driver for download and you cannot find any Win XP driver for this notebook model in HP web site. After search in Google, i found the other C700 series driver from here ->

All the drivers can be installed, just the speaker + mic + earphone is Not Working Properly. The speaker is no problem & got sound, but the mic cannot b used. When using earphone, you can hear the sound from earphone and speaker too. SigH! I have called HP person, but they said many ppl complaint this problem, but HP support team still cannot solve this problem.
I suspect the driver is not suitable. Any Expert can assist me? Thanks a lot!

just waity till they send u an update driver.not only cseries,others like v3000 also suffer this problem

how you install winxp? i tried to install winxp the setup not detecting the Harddisk because of the SATA ICH8 driver

First you need SATA drivers for you notebook. go google and download suitable SATA Drivers. if your notebook have floppy drive then just point Windows setup load them.else you need to get nLite program to integrate winxp sata drivers to windows xp installation disc

Beside of having USB Floppy, another way to install Windows XP into C749TU without USB FDD is go to BIOS and disable the native SATA function. PM me if you are not clear how to do that.

most of the drivers worked for my c795tu, but not the audio and quick launch. i just cant seem to get to install the audio no matter what driver i tried. it comes out an error saying cant find media device or something like that. even my wireless button also not really working, press also the light still remains orange. can anyone help?
