Hey guys! I think I'm the newest addition to the Malaysian PSP owner community!
I just got my new PSP slim from Nelson today.
And it was awesome! Already transferred Dead Fantasy HD into my PSP for viewing pleasure!
Anyway I got a question here.
When I asked Nelson whether I can play games more than 5 hours, he said the battery life can last only as long as 3 to 4 hours.
But can we use the theory of the laptop and its battery work here?

My friend said it's easy to solve the problem.
Just take out the battery and insert the power supply into your PSP while your playing your games.
This way you won't charge the battery while playing games and you are provided constant power supply and gaming for as long as you can.
Just wanna ask whether this method is usable or not?

Kindly reply, anyone who knows. Thanks!

Hey man thanks for the 'advice'?
Can somebody answer my question seriously?
If we can game during the charging of the PSP battery, doesn't that mean it already solved the PSP battery life problem?
We can game on the PSP for as long as we want this way right?
As long as power is constantly supplied to the PSP with or without the battery?

?? But I'm sure Nelson told me it would not do the battery good.
Also I found 2 contradicting answers on yahoo answers regarding this issue.
Look at the best answer on both questions.

This one says the PSP can be played using only power supply without the battery.

While this one says without the battery, the charger will damage the system.

What the heck?
I don't know who to believe now.

And for the USB 2 in 1 power refill and data transfer cable, it says we need to turn off the power of both the psp and the PC or laptop and then turn on the PC again in order for it to charge.
Will it do any harm if I plug in the power refill into the PC USB port when the computer is still on?

Also another funny question.
How to undo the crystal case from my PSP?
I want to take out the battery but there are no slots on the crystal case for easy taking out.

LOL you asked the same question as I did yesterday.
You can check the answer in the previous page.
But there can be contradicting answers.
Yes, you can play the game while charging it.
But of course logically speaking, it won't do good to the battery life I think?
It's best if you take out the battery first if you wanna play using just the power supply.
It all depends on whether you want to prolong your battery life or not.
If I were you, I will not play the psp while charging.

Why do you think so?
*
Because the battery will have to input and output power at the same time if you're playing while you're charging.
Whereas if you just charge it without playing, the battery will get a clean charge without having to output the power supply.
Oh well that's what I think so what the heck..

hi guys..not sure if any of u guys here knows whats wrong wif my pSP

Anyway, my psp became faulty. It only powers on with the power adapter, it does not power on with the battery.

Any idea what's faulty? It turns on for few seconds with the battery only, n shutsdown completely. I have no issue if i were to power it on with the adapter.

Well that sounds like your battery is fried.
Get a new one.
