I've got a stock daihatsu charade aura... since i have zero knowledge about car mod, would like some expert consultation of the cost it would be... the popular engine to change... or anything else i should really look into it.. many thx...

rm4k+ can get u a damm good condition 1.3 charage gtti turbo halfcut. add another rm1.7k for installation and u've got a monster that will have putras & gtis sweating

I didnt know that daihatsu got 1.3 GTTi turbo? did you meaned that Starlet 1.3 turbo?

Look for Daihatsu Ascend 1.6 halfcut.

the popular choice is definitely a GTti. or you can opt for a toyota 4E-FTE. both are turbo engines.

and TS, is your aura's stock engine 1.0 or 1.3.. if 1.3 you can consider a ascend 1.6 engine. but if its a 1.0 forget about it as you can't get it endorsed by JPJ since it exceeds the ruling.

It's a 1.0 stock... read about GTti and looks like its quite an engineering... however is it even possible to find 1 nowadays...

I know about that topic... but it sort of hang there without any actual conclusion... a deisel engine... mmmm... not exactly my kind of preference....

i'm quite interested into GTti... and the starlet... do i need modification on the mount... is it as easy as the GTti on fitting?

I live in Wangsa Maju, Setapak... is there any well known Daihatsu specialist in this kind of stuff near me? or if you guys might have known some... should i hunt for the halfcut myself.. or count on them???

for Aura (G100 Family) transplant to GTti (CB70/80) (3cly 1.0 Turbo Intercooler Twincam 12valve) do not need any mounting modification.
and u will pass puspakom inspection without problems if all in good condition. Just RM40, for inspection.
h.cut quite pricey reach 4k above

other alternative: G100 1.3i KISSA (HC-E). or Detomaso 1.6i (HD-EG) (this from G200 family, endorsement cant pass).
1.3 around 3k
deto around 2.5k

both need 1 mounting adjustment or 2 if not mistaken for Deto 1.6i.

or starlet 4E-FTE (1.3 turbo) from toyota.
endorsement difficult i think.
mounting need to mod.
