IM Client app for the iPhone/iPod touch is the well known Apollo or web-based IM Client (http://iphone.beejive.com) which you can access from Safari on your device which is better than the app as you don't need to install anything, just go to the site and you're good to go. Contact list syncs well and no hassle just about anything.
Apps might crash from time to time depends on situation, same with Safari but it's better run the IM client on the web.
Added on January 14, 2008, 9:31 pmIf you run 1.1.1, go to:
1-http://jailbreakme.com
2-Installer icon will be on your home screen, you've done jailbreaking.
3-Open Installer, let it refresh all the sources.
4-Add source (most right button on below),
http://www.applerepo.com5-Click refresh, after done go to the Apps list. There's tons of apps over there and if you scroll more, go to iPhone Apps 1.1.1 then download any of the iPhone apps right over the air. No hassle.
You have to use WiFi connectivity.
