Hi all,
I have this problem where out of no where my DEH P5500MP headunit is unable to read CDRWs giving an error-11 message on the display. It was playing them fine before. Now it can only read CD-Rs
Steps taken to check: - ensured discs were "closed" - tried different CDRWs - cleaned headunit contacts. - reset player by disconnecting it overnight.
The only thing i could really remember is that i am now using newer version of nero to burn CDRWs than before and i cant get the older version back to test. I have also tried other burning softwares with no success.
So any pioneer users experienced this problem? or any way to overcome this problem?
Thanks in advance.

craziechild - It does read cdrws. It read them like a dream before just lately it stopped. tplcaik - tried new disc already. Imation and brandless. I asked a friend that also has a pioneer and he told me he had the same problem burning discs on his new computer but when he goes back to his old computer and burns there it plays. Hmmmm could it really be the version of nero thats is the cause? coz i install a new version of nero just because i came across the disc but the burner drive remained the same. Got to find an older nero disc now

Ok just tried with a few months old Pioneer DVD writer, selected lowest speed, imation disc erased not more than 5 times. Problem still occurs lol. I think i should just give up on CDRWs and just continue using those few sen CD-Rs. Thanks all for the comments.

Yes it might be a software "nero" update that causes the problem. Maybe this older pioneer players need specific type of burning for it to recognize CDRWs.
