I got a shihtzu male dog which he is sexually active ever since he pass his 6 months old age...how active he is? well...

1) He likes to XXXk my housemate's black male shihtzu until they always end up fight wif each other x1
2) He likes to XXXk on my leggie and my female frens leggie as well...when my female fren visit me...surely he got excited and will do it...but not all female...he quite choosy...i dunno how he choose thou... x2
3) After since my housemate moved away and i scolded him for doing dat on my leggie...so he got no whr to express his "feelings" and now he actively on my pillow...something like Ben Stiller movie "Click".... x3

I vr pity him actually coz already 1 yr 9 mths and still single..i can feel wat he is goin thru thou...so i let him continue to do dat on my pillow...

Wat do u guys tin? Shd i buy him a new fren? Or shd i send him for breeding?

Its call humping.. my JRT also did d same when it was 6 months old.. can be stopped, its not coz it's hamsap, it wants to show dominance. Try scolding it or pat it whenever it tries to do it. If not its goin to be an annoying habit. If you dont want to breed or do not have a good reason to breed your dog, please neuter it. If you do have good reasons to breed ur dog, make sure it has a good family tree. Trust me, sending it to breed wont solve a thing.

buying him a female shih tzu is the worse thing you can do. Are you prepared for a new litter every six months? either you discipline him or you spay him.

Spay / neuter him... u say nono... but u also dont know wat u want... if u want to breed then get a female or go find a breeder and breed him... if u dont want puppies and cause the world to have more doggies... spay/neuter it.. u dont want him humping the rest of his life... do u?

Neutering is not cruel. Bringing a whole load of unwanted puppies to the world is cruel. We have enough strays on the roads and abandoned pets in SPCA, PAWS and the pound already.

i own 2 shih tzu.... thank god that both also male... hahaha i do sounds bad but having 2 male is better than a male and a female.

even my dogs like to hump each other, but we do scold them and uses newspaper to pat them so they will stop.

you doesnt need to buy a female shih tzu for him just because of that. you can find other ppl's female shih tzu for them to breed.

both of my dogs is more than 3 years but still single. hahahaha it seems lagi sad than yours. LOL~~

Perhpas we should stop encouraging the TS to breed her puppy? Instead of stopping the humping, he will continue to hump (as it is driven by the desire to be dominant, and not the desire for sex at this young age) and also mate with the poor female, resulting in a whole load of unwanted puppies.

IF not mistaken which i read from an article recently about dogs...it said dogs unlike humans where female produce ovum every month...dogs produce twice a yr..meaning...only twice the female dog will hv the babies...not every month as u mention...i dun hv exp breeding one...breeders, pls correct me if i'm wrong...i'm just following articles...forget whr i read d...but definitely from the website...

BTW, stray shih tzu dogs??? nvr seen b4...but it will be vr cute if all stray dogs are shih tzu... ---k/d ya? juz imagine only ma...so dun flame me...

No stray shih tzus? Have you checked in the pound or 'unwanted dogs for sale' section.

i think madmoz means every 6 mths u get baby shih tsu... imagine each time u get 2...u can open pet zoo already after 2 years.

Well..female dog on heat twice a year. But if your male dog always like to hump, it will hump everyday not only when your female dog is on heat. So just imagine it will hump until your female dog's fur full of matt etc.

If you choose not to neuter it, then you have to discipline it so that it won't simply do that. I have one male dog always like to hump my the other male dog not the female, I always stop him, and he would listen.

I mean i dun see them on da side road ma but i see maltese once...maybe he lost his way...anyway y u so heat up...u male leh...chill out lar...
okla okla...i get wat u mean...but i cant accept neutering him lar...is very cruel to me...if my shih tzu knows how to talk...he will definitely say no to neuter...he will hate me if i do dat...so pls dun force me k?

Right now you only have a few options.

1. Spay him, it's good for him and you too.
2. Stop him from doing it. My westie, Casper did it too and dirtied the pillow. My sister who saw the whole thing was shocked. I was shocked too. No idea where they learnt. Good thing is he only does it with the pillow but not our new addition - a female westie, Moonie.

Today, I brought both my dogs to my gf's house to play with her Jap Spitz. The Jap Spitz kept trying to hump Moonie and many times my gf had to intervene to stop him from doing it. Moonie is smart too, can protect herself by sitting down, lay down, turn around and bark at the Spitz.

Occassionally, I have to watch them to be sure and if it gets out of hand, I will throw my slipper at their direction near enough to make them separate and run apart.
