Hi all .. just a simple question. Has anyone tried to update the firmware of the phone using an ordinary USB cable? I mean not using the one that was provided with the phone. Can I do that? Because I left my original Nokia Cable in my hometown.

Seriously? Have you tried updating with that cable? I have no problem connecting my phone to the PC via PC Suite though.. I'm using the usb cable from my sony camera.

The NSU keep on saying that connection lost check your network connection or whether firewall is preventing the application from running properly. I've tried around 20 times today. laugh.gif icon_question.gif

Finally got my N95 updated with v21 today.. But the 3D menu that pops up when I slide down to reveal the media keys has gone.. Any idea how to get it back? Or is that function completely gone from the phone?

I was trying to connect to a WLAN connection using my N95 today and I found out that the connecting process took longer than my previous firmware! Once I got connected to the network, I started typing the address and far below my expectation, the phone showed an error message stating that there's no gateway reply!

The WiFi access point signal strength is at full bar and is a free public WiFi access point where I used to connect without any problems at all with my older firmware. Anyone has faced the same problem? sweat.gif

p/s: My current firmware version is the latest v21.0.016 whereas my previous firmware was v12.0.0xx (Can't recall)

I faced this problem before, but I guess it might due to the access point's error, even the signal strength is at full bar, it doesn't mean u can connect with it.

btw, just used my WIFI this morning, seems like there will be some errors like it will close the web browser automatically, it didn't show any signs and just close directly, latest firmware still haven't fix this error... mad.gif

I never had problems connecting to the access point with the previous firmware before. hmm.gif

Wah really ... Guess i'm not the only one who is facing this problem.. Apparently I went thru a website stating that this firmware had WiFi problems but I'm too lazy to check back. sweat.gif . The website stated that the WiFi doesn't stay for long for the new firmware (v21.0.016). I guess we just need to wait for the next update to fix this problem. But I'm so lazy to do any updates anymore. shakehead.gif
