QUOTE(aiman04 @ Feb 12 2008, 12:02 PM) I have to hire a hitman and assasinate everyone of you. So much poison here. I already placed my order for the remote!!! LOL, can't believe you didn't get the remote yet? esp from a "PS3 as a blu-ray player" user...

QUOTE(aiman04 @ Feb 12 2008, 01:50 PM) The way I see it:
Bad receiver + bad speakers = 1/2 star
the way I see it with bad receiver/speaker combo, if use DD = 0 stars, but with LPCM/TrueHD/DTS+ = 1.5stars

not another 1080i vs 720p debate...
1st determine if you 1080i is film or video based source cos they will have 2 different outcome.
also if you have motion adaptive deinterlacing on 1080i, then it';s not accurate to say that the final outcome will have only 540p information...
Added on February 14, 2008, 3:26 pmyeah besides, there is no such thing as a 1080i LCD or plasma. they are all progressive digital displays, so 1080i will refer to the incoming signal not the TV itself.

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Feb 14 2008, 03:44 PM) The next Blu-ray players (from Pioneer and the like) will have an additional option. They will be able to output the 1080p/24 from the disc directly. At first you may think that if your TV doesn't accept 1080p, you'll miss out on being able to see the "unmolested" 1080p/24 from the disc. Well even if your TV could accept the 1080p/24, your TV would still have to add the 3:2 pulldown itself (the TV is still 60Hz). So you're not seeing the 1080p/24 regardless. Added on February 14, 2008, 3:45 pm. The only time you would see a difference is if you have native 1080p/60 content, which at this point would only come from a PC and maybe the PS3. 1080p/60 does have more information than 1080i/30, but unless you're a gamer you will probably never see native 1080p/60 content. It is incredibly unlikely that they will ever broadcast 1080p (too much bandwidth) or that 1080p/60 content will show up on discs (too much storage space and no one is using it to record/film). Added on February 14, 2008, 3:46 pmnot yet sell ur AE-9ratus?? waiting for u to sell to me still got spare bulb... unless I watch astro (long hours) on it, hard to use up the time 2000-3000hours just watching DVDs and blu-rays..

QUOTE(zio @ Feb 18 2008, 01:22 PM) Eh? But its UPS shipping, just for different countries and you get different rates. Not a matter of choosing different shipping companies. If its not distance, or extra stops, then what other reasons can it be? oh, you mean same courier, but between diff countries, yeah, probably due to higher costs of transportation.. even in some large countries, like china, russia, USA, may have diff rates between location or diff arrival dates..
