Hi,
From my experience with Maybank was in order to open Joint Account, you need to have some sort of close relationship with the other holder eg husband and wife. When I tried to open a joint account in Maybank a few months ago, they don't allow us to open unless we can provide a marriage cert for them to acknowledge it.
The following day, we brought our marriage cert to PB bank and want to open joint account there. However, it isn't required at all. Anyway, that was 3 months back.
Emm.. I wasn't sure if this is a regulation by Bank Negara or within bank itself.
Hope someone can enlighten this issue for you.
