Could anyone please explain the following accounts? What are the differences between, say allowance for doubtful debts and doubtful debts written off?
Allowance for Doubtful Debts- just a specific allowance for specific debtor said sykt ABC ( Dr. P/l Cr B/S)
Allowance for Doubtful Debts No Longer Required - Reversal of previous provision such as sykt ABC since amount due aldy collected
Doubtful Debts Written Off - BAD DEBT WRITE OFF...a) there is no provision before so simple write off (Dr. P/L Cr. Debtor) or aldy provided such as sykt ABC - reduce the provison acc (Dr.allowance DD Cr.debtor??)


Doubtful Debts Recovered- those aldy write off but subsequently recovered such as Sykt ABC

Allowance for Obsolete Inventories No Longer Required
Allowance for Inventories Written Off
