So, whenever there's a news like "Quarterly rpt on consolidated results for the financial period ended xx/x/2008" and it stated "Proposed/Declared dividend per share (sen) - "Rm xx.xx", does it mean the investor will receive money for that quarter? Is it possible to get dividend for 4 times a year?
*
BJTOTO would be the best counter wic never late in giving div quarterly thumbup.gif

If:

EX-date : 26/12/2008
Entitlement date : 31/12/2008
Entitlement time : 05:00:00 PM

If I bought on 28/12/2008, will it count for the dividend?
*
nope, as we refer to the "Ex-date"

When is T+3?

If I sell a share on Monday. Will T+3 means Wednesday or Thursday?

If I sell a share on Monday. Will a public holiday falling on Tuesday affect the timing of T+3?

Normally i make my stock pick up payment via check or cash sometimes (if the amount is few thousands).

Today is my first time i use interbank transfer from my CIMB to my brokerage Hwang DBS (RHB).

Any one got do this before? Any risk?

It will be easier for me next time as i no need to go bank to open cheque and easier.

All sifus there pls share you experience on interbank fund transfer for your stock pick up.
*
i used to do interbank fund transfer for each of my trading.... be it online or cash deposit, no problem at all smile.gif
what i need to do is just by faxing the statement to my dealer or capture the screenshot of the transaction & send it to him if it's online

Yes, if your tax bracker is 19% (let say), then you can claim back the extra 6% being paid.

But if the dividend is declared under the new single tier system (which start from 2008, company start to using it and compulsory to be used after 2013), then you no claim back is allowed.
*
But how come there r still a lot of companies wic r not applying the single tier system (ex: the recent final div by PBBANK) hmm.gif

QUOTE(htt @ Feb 4 2009, 07:47 PM)
You still can claim, the money will remain there until you ask for refund or use to offset you tax payable in future.
*
- Can a student register as a tax payer too?
- Another Q is, let's say i received my final div on Mar 09 but i'd submitted my BE form on Feb 09... so does it mean that i need to declare the final div next yr (even though the final div is frm financial yr 08)? unsure.gif

I got some noob question too  sad.gif

About the stock que, does 10,000 que at certain price means 10,000 people are queing to buy the stock / 10,000 lots are in que ? volume traded = lots traded too?  icon_question.gif
*
it would be 10,000 lot(s)... not 10,000 people... volume is normally shown in lot(s)
correct me if i'm wrong smile.gif

hm let say GENTING or RESORT? Normally how do we know when they are give out div? From the corporate website?

thanks in advance
*
GENTING & RESORTS give out div semi-annually by tradition.... u can always check from the KLSE website for the news as mentioned by Cherroy
And fyi GENTING had proposed a final div of RM0.04 each share for FY08
QUOTE
i) A final ordinary dividend for the current financial year ended 31 December 2008 has
been recommended by the Directors for approval by shareholders;
ii) The recommended final dividend, if approved will amount to 4.0 sen per ordinary share
of 10 sen each, less 25% tax;

ok, found it on genting website. Both genting and resorts are giving the same dividen of 4.0 sen

So, lets say if i buy resorts share today, 10x100 @ Rm1.90, how much div will i get?

It also says that the date of payment will be decided later, so i need to hold the shares after the date of payment to get the dividen?
*
u need to hold until the ex-date... the payment date is after the ex-date where the div will be deposited into all the shareholders' CDS accounts.....

Is the 4 sen dividend after or before tax? How do I redraw the dividend money from my CDS account after the dividends are deposited into it?
*
3 cent is wat u'll get after 25% tax..... Is ur account a nominee or a direct acc? if direct acc, u'll get the cheque itself; nominee acc, i'm not too sure tongue.gif

hi all ! i am new here !! i manage to save up to RM10k (since i grad til now) but i think if put in bank.. the money value will depreciates also.. so i want to make some extra money with this rm10k... with rm10k how much can i invest in the stock market? and i dunno what 1 bid 2 bid thing.. 1 bid is how many cents? thx
*
1 bid 2 bid? wat r u talking bout? blink.gif
btw, the share price dat u normally saw frm the newspaper is the price for a unit of share.... but 4 every purchase order, u need to take up at least 100 unit of shares (aka 1 lot).... so if the current price for share A is RM0.20, u'll need at least RM20 to buy it (excluding broker fees, clearing fees & stamp duty)

Wow, that means volume really is much lower than I expected. AXREIT, for all the activity that forumers wrote about yesterday, had a trading volume of only 1,120 lots yesterday. That's like about RM170k worth of transactions, really low.
*
REIT counters is not dat "active" compare 2 other counters coz ppl tend to hold it 2 enjoy the div smile.gif

PayDate = 17 july 2009

My question:
1. Can still buy on 1 july ?
2. Can sell before pay date as it got symbol "X" now?
Thank you
*

2. payment date is just the date they issue out the cheque...
