Please let me add on to this.

Most brokers will use FIFO,so in the absence of any instruction from you,the 90 lots bought on the first day together with 10 lots from the second day will be contra off against the selling.

However, you can actually request the Remisier to submit a form to the broker instructing them to treat the buying and selling of 100 lots on the second day as an intra day trade.

The process is NOT automatic, you have to make a request.
*
It's what I request to the dealer via phone .. but she said no need to call, it's automatic an intra, so I'll wait tomorrow what the result on the ITrade platform, if opposite vmad.gif

thanks to cherroy and lklatmy for the info notworthy.gif

1 bid 2 bid? wat r u talking bout? blink.gif
btw, the share price dat u normally saw frm the newspaper is the price for a unit of share.... but 4 every purchase order, u need to take up at least 100 unit of shares (aka 1 lot).... so if the current price for share A is RM0.20, u'll need at least RM20 to buy it (excluding broker fees, clearing fees & stamp duty)

i would suggest that you do not put in all your money into the share market until you understand n get a feel. while you can learn a lot from forumers here, nothing beats practical experience. you will also begin to also discover yourself. smile.gif use the internet to your advantage. there are many opinions and suggestions out there, but i'd take everything with a pinch of salt n do more research on my own. happy trading smile.gif

Er, sorry but really noob question here. When I go to a site like The Star and look at the volume, it says something like "Vol '00" which means I have to add a couple of zeroes to the number. My question is, is that number the number of lots (1,000 shares) or actual number of shares?

Most will qoute the volume in term of lots. While currently KLSE per lot is x 100 shares.

can, walk to any Hong Leong bank to query. Simple operation. Deposit/withdraw to Hong Leong.
Cheaper than Maybank for sure. Not many gimmicks like CIMB.

Wow, that means volume really is much lower than I expected. AXREIT, for all the activity that forumers wrote about yesterday, had a trading volume of only 1,120 lots yesterday. That's like about RM170k worth of transactions, really low.

hi there, a very beginner question would like to ask all the pro here.plz...do help me smile.gif

Basically a company's share flow on market is about 10-30% and the rest is hold by own company management team,
other company/corporation, funds , bank and etc.
My question is.......... the price of a share in market is decide by who?who decide the price for going up or down?
is it the price going up/down simply depend on buyer and seller only?

some more, we know that a company come into market is for raise money,my question is
how a company/corporation raise money after their released IPO?
i mean like during IPO price is RM2,
after that the price raise to RM4, What is their benefit in this raise of the price?
does the raise of price do benefit the company?

sorry for such long question, but i think reli does help for those learner, any pro can do help me to answer those question?
a very very thanks for helping.

Share price is dictated by the market force aka buyer and sellers in the market. If the rest of 80 or 95% of shareholding doesn't intend to buy and sell, the it is the rest market force dictate the share price.

Share price up or down doesn't affect daily company business operation. So it doesn't benefit the company. Having said that, share price is a reflection of company fundamental strength.

Ths for sharing...

But if the share price up in the market, the management team can take profit by selling some of his stock also, right..? n can the company itself declare new ordinary share to market from treasury in a higher price since now the market price for its company share already up..?

They calculate Buy Rate with this formula,

Buy Rate = Total Buy Volume / (Total Buy Volume + Total Sell Volume)

Ths htt smile.gif

Means if the major share holder is from it's company management team, then they will approve to issue new share, in order to raise fund with a higher share price since thier share price in the market has been up, right..?
