I got 9600GT SLI. I think it's around the same performance as 8800GS SLI.

Performance (1440 x 900 widescreen)
15k on 3DMark06. (stock clocks on GPU with 3.6GHz E8400)
Crysis - ~40-45 FPS | High with Very High custom config | DX9
UT3 - avg 60 FPS with Vsync | Max settings | 8xAA
GoW - avg 60 FPS with Vsync | Max settings | DX10 AA
COD4 - around 80+, never drop below 40 before | Max settings | 4xAA
Oblivion - around 40 - 60 FPS outdoor | Max settings | 4xAA Forced | QARL Texture pack
Bioshock - avg 60 FPS | Max settings | DX10 | 8xAA | FPS limit to 60
CSS - Can't see the FPS but it's 3 digits | Max settings | 16xCSAA

Helo guys..
Im new in this SLI universe.. hehe
JUst building my new sli rig. My rig spec as u all can see at the bottom. No pic yet, but soon will.

My prob is i just get only 12k to 13k point w 3dmark06, on res 1280x1024, no AA, OPTIMAL shader. OC the card w riva tuner and Ntune from 600/1500/900 to 630/1515/920. Afraid to push more coz using the stock cooler. ive just set the fan to 90% both. My card temp raise to 80degree when at full load. Is that good or normal or what?

Bro slayerxt said that the point was so low.. and i agree w that. COz ive read a review in the net, also here, said they can get 15k+++. How to do that?
Can anyone show me the rght way to set the configuration plss.. really noob in this sli world.

And i only get 25 to 30 Fps in crysis, w res set at 1280x1024 no AA, High details, DX9. that the same point i get w a single card. Using the newer driver now, ver 175.16 for XP. Dont want to use vista yet.
For ur info, ive mod the shader mode in crysis file, its like a crack configuration i got in the net which adjust the shader and all that. So when i change the graphic detail to high in crysis, actually it wiil set to very high. As we know that very high setting can only set in Vista DX10 rght?

My Rig spec as u all can see at the bottom..
So any help, opinion, ideas are very welcome here..
TQ TQ TQ

You should be getting at least 45 FPS in Crysis with that settings. If you want to get 15k 3DMarks, then you need to OC your proc higher.

Race Driver: G.R.I.D. SLI

I've noticed that GRID doesn't have support for SLI by default. There's no profile for the game in the nVidia Control Panel too.

To enable SLI support in GRID, you'll have to download nHancer so you can add and edit the driver profile.

After downloading and installing nHancer,
1) Create a custom profile for GRID. Add the GRID.exe to the executable list.
2) In the SLI Mode tab, select 4-way AFR.
3) Tick 10, 14, and 22.

Enable Load Balancing Graph to see if SLI is kicking in.

If you want to get 15k+ 3DMark06, then you should OC your proc to 3.6GHz. You should be seeing 15.5K and above.

The crashing is not SLI-related. I've completed the game with SLI and so far haven't crash once yet. When the game crash, is there any error message?

Bro, read my post above. I've already put the guide on how to add SLI support for GRID.

I won't recommend you to sell off your 8800GT SLI for GTX260. I think 8800GT SLI is faster than GTX260. You should wait for GTX295, which will be released around early next year (Jan 2009).

hi guys, quick question, can a XFX9800GTX be paired up with a ENGTS250?
*
According to FiringSquad, you can SLI 9800GTX+ and GTS250 provided they have the same amount of memory. e.g. 512MB 9800GTX+ must pair with 512MB GTS250.

QUOTE(Firingsquad)
NVIDIA says the GeForce GTS 250 will run in SLI with the 9800 GTX+, but the two cards must have the same amount of memory in order for SLI to function: you won’t be able to pair a 1GB GeForce GTS 250 with a 512MB GeForce 9800 GTX+.

I'd recommend you to upgrade the latter choice (GTX285 + Mon). Core i7 motherboard is not worth the price yet. Your current CPU is good enough if it runs at 3+GHz.

EDIT: Have you considered SLI GTX275? I think it's around RM200 more than GTX285 only but the performance is much better.
EDIT2: Or you can keep your SLI 8800GT now, and wait for GT300 to be released.

To use RivaTuner to OC, follow these instructions:-
1) Open Rivatuner, and switch to Power User tab
2) Under Rivatuner \ System, find the ForceDriverVersion entry and change it to your current driver version (e.g. for 185.81, change to 18581)
3) Click OK
4) Now you can access the OC feature.

@weichieh007
My guess is that your CPU is limiting the score for the 3DMark06. As Najmods has pointed out, you should try it out with games.

@Mavrix
Using win7 with SLI here. Not much of a problem whatsoever.

-edit: Hmm, there is a NVIDIA Control Panel option when I right click on the desktop..Using 195.62.

---
Anyway, just fyi for those using sli while playing l4d2, the sli will be automatically disabled after loading a new level. To fix this, you'll have to alt-tab out of the game then go into the game again.

Then, for UT3, for some reason the GPU PhysX does not work after enabling SLI.

@Mavrix
Try this:-
1) Open Control Panel
2) Go to Hardware and Sound category
3) Click on NVIDIA Control Panel
4) In the NVIDIA Control Panel, click View and then check the Add Desktop Context Menu

**It should have been selected by default, even in Win7.

Anyway, it shouldn't prompt the that because that only appears when the driver is not WHQL certified. But in your case, 195.62 from NVIDIA is WHQL certified.

Also, if you can install the driver, that means your GPU is supported and recognized.

And, is the system you are installing the driver laptop or desktop? If it's laptop, then you should get the driver from laptopvideotogo.

No, I meant the window's Control Panel. Start Orb > Control Panel.

Or, just manually open NV Control Panel by using run "%programfiles%\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcplui.exe".

@demonic..

Ive done ur tips but still no Nvidia control panel..

BUT! ive clean up the display driver and reinstalled it.. the installer give a msg: 'the system has not being modified. please install the driver later'. what  is that suppose to mean? When i cx at gpuz yes its stated 195.62 there.. how come? i try reinstalling the driver 2-3 times but the msg still appeared.. even after rebooting..

Added on January 3, 2010, 7:49 pmAnd im just pull out my 2nd gpu now.. just like bro nidzamputra suggest me.. im on a single gpu now..
*
That msg means that the driver installation is not complete. Normally I fix this by using uninstall old driver then use Driver Sweeper to clean the remaining files. Then after restart, the Standard VGA adapter will be installed, indicating that all the remainders of NVIDIA drivers have been cleaned. If it doesn't display that msg, then it might mean there's still some NVIDIA files. Oh yeah, just to check the basic, you have disabled UAC prior to the installation, haven't you?

Also, try using the 195.81 driver from NVIDIA.

Yea, there's probably a bug in the installer. Anyway, Vista isn't really that bad in terms of gaming provided you optimized the Vista first.
